A Hot Day in Winter
chapter 2
by Top Ace
I know that a lot of people see Kurama and Hiei as "lovers" but according to me and Yoshihiro Togashi, they're not. So I have written a fanfic that is: Not yaoi, not hentai or any of those things. It might be a little bit romantic, but that ain't my problem. (well it is, since I wrote this. Oh well...)
Also, there is a character in here named Verai.
She is not related to YYH as far as I can tell, I just use her because I use her
name in all the RPGs that I play, and the name is nifty. In this story, Verai is
a 20 year old freshman in college.
A hot day in winter
Part 2!

The four fighters observed the locals with a 8 sharp eyes. (9 if you include Hiei's Jagan) Then on a particularly hot day in Febuary, it happened. Four demons started making their way towards the school. The same school that Verai goes to!
Lunch time was now essential to Verai's health. With the heat of these strange winter days and a test in the next class, Verai needed a break. She walked out side to see the shining sun and 4 figures swish from a roof, landing right in front of her.
Hiei knew that no matter how fast he was, he would never find the other 3 in time to save this girl. So he raced down and slashed all 4 of the demons with a single swipe of his katana blade. Verai looked up in astonishment as Hiei put his sword back in his sheath. "Thanks..." Hiei glanced at her and muttered, "I lied to you. My name isn't Vincent. It's Hiei." "Oh. Hiei. Nice name. Thanks for saving me." Hiei just nodded and jumped back to the roof and disappeared. Verai gazed off into the distance thinking, Ahhhh. My mystery man. She walked to the burger shop with a smile on her face.
The school bell rang, meaning it was the end of the day. Verai looked around and noticed all the crowding at the front door to get out of school. So she sat down and waited. She had to walk home today, so she really didn't care about getting out right away. She stayed and thought about what had happened at lunch, and why she thought more about Hiei and not about the demons that tried to attack her. "Must be a teenage thing," she sighed as she got up and left the school.
Verai walked at a steady pace back to her house. It started to rain. As she was walking, she glimpsed a dark swoosh on top of a tree. Must be my imagination. He couldn't follow me home. Must be the rain. Verai got to her house, took a shower and got ready for bed. It was late, and she was starting to wonder if night classes were good for her health. Then she heard a tapping on her window. She walked to her window and opened the curtain...
That's it for now, wait until I come up with startling conclusion!
