Hello and welcome to Bab's Astroboy page !
AstroBoy is (and still is!) one of the most significant and best cartoons of people's childhood years as well as the new generation. It is watched by millions of all ages as it is both entertaining and portrays an important message in all.
Brief Summary:
For
those who don't know who he is, here's a brief summary. AstroBoy
is a animated Japanese cartoon character who was created by the
talented Osamu Tezuka. He is a human-like inside a robot's body.
The story begins with a ordinary boy named Toby. One unfortunate
day he died during a car accident. He's father (Dr. Boynton) was
devastated. So he decided being the Robot Scientist that he is,
to create a robot just like Toby. But this robot is special, he
has super human powers, this was only later discovered when he
rescued humans/robots who needed rescuing and who were in
trouble..
Astro encounters a lot of trouble because he is a robot and the humans find it difficult to accept Astro for who he is because he is different. Through his kindness and generosity towards others, Astro begins to be accepted as an equal for who he is and learns valuable lessons about life in the human world.
That's what makes him the AMAZING AstroBoy !
Osamu Tezuka trys to appeal through his work
with the following message.

Love all the creatures! Love everything that has life ! " (Quoted)
In his episodes he deals with being different cause he's a robot. That's what Osamu was trying to say with the episodes. That every is equal no matter where they come from.
How did Astro get his name ?
Astro got his name from a girl called Kathy in the 2nd episode which he met during when he was takened by a evil ringleader and forced to join a robot circus. A true friend who believed in him which made Astro believe in himself to free himself from the evil ringleader. And the help of a robot Bill of rights. She named him ASTROBOY.
Someone who he'll never forget.
