Urgent News regarding Maison Ikkoku Anime!

The Project to Save Maison Ikkoku in North America

I was minding my own business, frustrated as many of you have been with VIZ due to their slow delivery of any non-Pokemon videos to your local store, when I got an Email from my pal Inu Yasha regarding one of my favorite Takahashi anime stories, Maison Ikkoku! Long story short, it seems that VIZ in it's lack of wisdom has decided to cancel any more production of the dubbed and subtitled episodes of Maison Ikkoku! The site, Yusaku Godai's Life at Maison Ikkoku (acessible via the navigation bar to the left) is running a petition via a guestbook at the site which will be forwarded to VIZ to prove the demand for MI exists and is very strong. All other Rumies (Rumiko Takahashi fans) who visit my site, please go to Godai's site and sign the petition. It would be a sad thing to not have this anime available in North America. Please sign this petition today!

BOOM! Welcome, once again, to the area of my website that deals with my favorite manga and anime creators, Rumiko Takahashi! For those of you who have been living in a cave and haven't seen any anime since Battle of the Planets, Rumiko Takahashi is the creator of such manga (comics) as Ranma ˝, Urusei Yatsura (Those Obnoxious Aliens), Maison Ikkoku, and most recently, Inu Yasha!

Mrrow!

Y2K kept me really busy at work, along with various family hollidays running from Epiphany through Lunar New Years (Welcome to the Year of the Dragon!!!) So, finally I have some updates--including what's in the next paragraph:

FINALLY!!! The first two tapes of Ranma ˝: Martial Arts Mayehm has finally come out as of the first of the year! Whew! We waited a long time for that! That first tape Buns of Steel includes the adaptation of the story "The Dragon's Whisker"--which explains why boy-type Ranma has a pigtail and never unties it! This story was shown in the manga by VIZ last year--buy the back issues so you know what I'm talking about!

The second tape Marry Me Akane features the return of the Giant Ghost Cat obsessed with marriage. This time around, the Ghost Cat possesses Ryoga and gets him to propose to Akane--something he hasn't had the guts to do on his own before!

Both of these tapes are hugely funny, as expected! If only those next two tapes would hurry up and get here...

Maison Ikkoku Links

Kyoko & GodaiHere's a good picture of Kyoko Otanashi & Yusaku Godai from Maison Ikkoku which will link you to a really great site on the show. It has an episode guide, that could be a spoiler for you fans here in North America. It also gives a great breakdown of character descriptions and so forth. All in all, one of the best sites I've found on Maison Ikkoku
