Gosh, I haven't had a rambling for ages! I've really been terrible
at updating this site, haven't I? :(
Music Taste
Anyway, I was thinking about what kind of music P-ko and Q-ko
would listen to if they were in the real world. Since I know
very little about the world of Japanese music, I'm going by
"North American" style music that I guess they would like.
For P-ko, I bet she'd like bright, happy music the most. ^_^
She's a super-happy and cheerful character, so most likely
she'd like that kind of music. I bet that she'd like "bubblegum"
music -- like Hanson and Aqua. I know that they're
definitely not universally liked -- don't flame me
on this one please. ^_^ But I can see P-ko liking that
kind of music, maybe even having a crush on Taylor Hanson
or something. ^_^ I can't see her listening anything like Nine
Inch Nails or anything "industrial" like that tho. ^_^
Q-ko would probably like sadder, more reflective music;
I can see her listening to Sarah MacLachlan or Jewel or
something like that -- a kind of music where a lot of thought
goes into it, and it tells a lot about the deep feelings of the
singer.
I bet that both of them would be fans of the music of Sailormoon,
one reason being that they're always seen with Sailormoon
paraphernalia, and the other reason being that Sailormoon has some
really cool songs that I can see P-ko and Q-ko grooving to. ^_^
Just Imagine...
If PQ Angels was made into an anime. How do you think it would
be? I have to say, I don't think it would be as popular and
long-running as Sailormoon. Why? It simply doesn't have enough
depth and universality to be as loved as Sailormoon -- yet,
anyway. Maybe, as the series progresses (if it ever
progresses) we'll see some more, deeper, emotional moments.
After all, in the beginning, all Sailormoon consisted of
was fights against the Dark Kingdom, with the dashing
Tuxedo Kamen saving the day. P-ko would be fun to watch in
an anime, though; she's so bright and animated (not in the
literal sense), and it would be cute to watch her "overjoyed-ness"
in motion.
But suppose, if this PQ Angels anime caught the eye of our
dear friends at DiC. Hoo boy...can't you imagine what would happen
to P-ko and Q-ko then? Sailormoon would seem like a totally literal
translation compared to it. I can see it -- Peanut and Kyuuri would
lean towards each other, then suddenly and magically they'd be the
PQ Angels, ready for fighting. ^_^ And what about when they are
cockroaches and have to transform into people? Maybe they'd make
them call out "magic words" and then suddenly appear as people --
but what about the innocent people (Ouji) that they would appear
on? They'd have to cut out that scene, too. Those who are scissor-happy
could have a field day cutting out all the stuff they'd want
edited...cut it down to ten minutes from a thirty-minute anime.
Oh well...I can't imagine DiC actually getting and airing PQ Angels,
can you?
