    Dreams..... no time, Hope..... yes, as much as we could, The future.....
    made ourselves believe in it. It must have come to an end.
    We believed we were no longer "TROOPERS".....

    Message

    In 1991 they did sort of an epilogue of the series. It still had strong fan support. Message was the result. A five part OAV, it shows what happened after the Troopers lost (no joke) their armors. (I have heard two different theories as to what happened to the armors. After Kikoutei Densetsu the yoroi either: a) were totally destroyed when the two Kikoutei yoroi were destroyed. {{This seems to be the official version}} Or: b) the yoroi returned to the Youjakai and now guard the five gates that separate our two worlds. Both sound good, take your pick.) This five part OAV is different from the other OAVs and the TV series, in that each episode features one Trooper, has a lot of monologs, and hardly any fight scenes. It is rather hard to follow unless you know Japanese or have a series synopsis handy.


    The Troopers have started to live a normal life of trying to reconcile their warrior past with the peaceful lives they now live. (This takes March of 1991.) Suzunagi, a vengeful ghost from the past comes to take revenge for all those who died to protect the yoroi during the centuries before they were born and to avenge her own lonely heart.
    For her revenge, she would kill each wearer in his yoroi. To acomplish this feat, Suzunagi went about trapping each Trooper in a physical representation of the armors pictured in an old book, Suiko Den (Legend of Water Margin), which was increadably enough a retelling of the Troopers battle against Arago. (Her father lost his life due to the play he adapted from the book.)
    'Message' is a story of discovery and self realization for all five of the main characters, to find themselves, and to find their future.
    Unfortunately for us, this series is where the anime ends. For good this time. At the end of volume five the Troopers have new (more traditional and cooler) armors. Their abilities are now different. Instead of using their inner energy to power and strengthen their armors, they manipulate the elements with their own powers. Their new armors are just that, armors. Nothing mystical about them except for their creation. The Troopers now go forward to forge a new destiny for themselves, and to create a new legend.
    The Mystical Armor Legend of the Samurai Troopers is over. The Legend of the Samurai Troopers now begins! (And we don't get to see it. *sniff*sniff*)
