The day Zechs took off his mask. Speaking in front of his late father's portrait, Zechs expresses that he found himself not worthy of inheriting his father's kingdom. His "hands had been stained," he says, having been involved in the conquests of OZ and the Rockefeller Foundation. He passes leadership onto his sister, Rilina, and places all his hopes on her.

A True Pittskert. The Rockefeller foundation has now heard that Zechs, instead of destroying Wing Gundam 1, has instead repaired it to continue his battle with its pilot, Hiiro. During this duel, Rilina tries to stop Hiiro and learns from Rhine (Noin) that Zechs is her brother. Upon hearing of the remarks that Zechs is stubborn and determined, Rilina answers, "Those are the traits of a true Pittskert (Peacecraft)."

In the meantime, as the troops of the Rockefeller Foundation came, Zechs asks Hiiro and Trowa to leave. Their battle would continue next time. He then asks Rhine (Noin) to escape with his sister Rilina, his only hope for the Empire of Sango (Sanc).

The Mask Breaks....Later on, Zechs was arrested for this act. Under Treize's seemingly reluctant orders, mobile suits are dispatched to kill him. As Zechs faces the many mobile suits of the Rockefeller Foundation, he begins to think about his own cause, his friend Treize and OZ. The heavy blows that he received could not be supported by Tallgeese and the impact causes his mask to break. Ambassador. After he recovers from this incident that nearly claimed his life, Zechs tours space as Julian Pittskert (Miliardo Peacecraft), ambassador of the Empire of Sango (Sanc) against OZ. Despite being a representative of Sango's (Sanc's) advocacy for peace, he still fights the new mobile suits targeted for Earth. In one of the battles in space, he learns that the Rockefeller Foundation is now attacking his Empire of Sango (Sanc) and rushes to save it. He was too late. Rilina (not knowing the force of many Gundams behind her... my opinion, very unwise girl), surrenders her kingdom for peace. Hiiro, in the meantime, meets Zechs.

Against the Earth nation. The emissary of the White Fangu (Fang) finds Zechs drinking away his sorrows in a bar, apparently disappointed from the loss of his kingdom and Rilina's symbolic title as "Queen of the World." He finally accepts being the next leader of the White Fangu (Fang), a group committed to independence for the Colonial Stars.

In a live, worldwide television broadcast, Zechs announces that war is inevitable, especially chaos between the Earth and the Colonial stars. He then announces that he declares war against the Earth nation. The force he has now is quite powerful, considering the capture of the ship Libran and his mobile suit Epyon.

Treize, now leader of the Earth nation, summons all the mobile suits against the White Fangu (Fang). Zechs commands that the Libran's gun be directed towards Earth. But the failure of this gun to create damage, he commands that the Libran system suspend to the Earth and create such a large explosion to damage it.

The last word. Because Rilina went inside the Libran in order to try and stop her brother, Hiiro came one last time to see Zechs (or inadmittedly, save her). Seeing Zechs one last time, Hiiro draws a gun but finds out that the image he saw was only a hologram. Before they leave, Zechs tells Rilina that whatever happens, "You must live."

The last duel. Despite Lady Ann (Une's) surrender of the Earth nation, the last battle is reserved for Zechs and Hiiro. With both powerful systems, Epyon vs. Zero Type Wing Gundam, and the prowess of skilled pilots, the battle proved to be an equal match. But just as Zechs was about to deliver his blow, Hiiro manages to attack and instead forces Epyon to receive heavy damage.

Hiiro then leaves to destroy the destructive piece of the destroyed Libran towards Earth. The last we see of Zechs in the series would be the time that he goes toward the damaging Libran. The first aim of destroying Earth would be contrary to his final action in saving it, as he destroys the damaging piece of his captured Libran to keep from colliding on Earth. Zechs goes with the explosion to help Hiiro and that is the last we see of him in the series.

And then the OAV Endless Waltz for Zechs would begin....
