This interesting little piece entitled 'Quantum Destinies' is the product of a guy we like to call Jurai Knight. It all revolves around our favorite martial artist, but this is not the Ranma you know. Let me explain. You see, somewhere around five hundred years ago, the Empire of Japan made it's first of many conquests, adding China and much of eastern Asia into it's fold. As the years passed, the Japanese Empire continued to grow and expand until today it has control of over half the world. Enter Ranma Saotome, who is now just returning from a ten year journey with his father, stydying at the best institutes of higher learning from around the world. Ranma's return to Japan is heralded by his admission to the Imperial Academy (by far the premiere facility for the Empire's scientific and military minds on the planet), to which he scored perfect on the entrance exams. Of course, all of this is simply a means to an end for Ranma, as his real goals are for something much grander. Two years ago, Ranma had a dream, a vision really, that gave him the idea for a device that would change the world. With the resources available at the Academy, he plans to make his vision a reality and prove his father's work on the existance of other realities. When complete, it should give him the chance to glimpse other realities that diverged from his own, where other worlds, other 'selves', lead a different path. Of course... not everything goes according to plan, and just wait untill you meet his classmates. 8^) Something to keep in mind when reading this is that... 'The more things change, the more they stay the same.'
