Three Jews And A Persian

Sketch Comedy for your Mom… but not your Dad.

Three Jews and a Persian is a four-member sketch comedy group that writes, directs, and performs completely original shows in New York City. The group is comprised of Negin Farsad, Geoff Kirsch, Jason Reich, and Alex Zalben, who have been together as 3JNP since August 1999. Before that, the four worked together as part of the Skits-O-Phrenics, Cornell University’s Only All-Skit Comedy Group. Before that, they did not know each other at all.

Three Jews And A Persian is:

Negin Farsad – By day, she is a high powered BWOC Columbia graduate student. By night, she takes off the trench coat and fedora to bust out onto the sketch comedy scene (and does she ever!). Other acting/comedy experience includes various roles in student films and on the Cornell stage. She is also a political junkie, intending to lead a dual role as a comedian and politician in the future. Vote Farsad for President in 2016! Go ahead, waste a vote. She dares you to.

Geoff Kirsch – A 24-year-old natural redhead, Geoff works as a science teacher at an as yet undetermined high school in Brooklyn. In his real life, he writes, acts, directs and produces sketch comedy, alongside his three closest friends… Run DMC! Outside acting credits are virtually non-existent in Geoff's case, because he is predominantly an untalented slob. In his free time, which is also virtually non-existent, Geoff loves to write fiction, both short and long, and plans to eventually pursue an MFA in that discipline. Either that, or fire-eating – he’s on the fence.

Jason Reich – A.K.A. the “Cute One,” Jason, aside from being certified in three of the five most deadly arts, has written radio sketches for “Rewind” on KUOW-FM Seattle, and has worked with actor/comedian Al Franken on the short-lived NBC sitcom Lateline. Currently, he is a Writer on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart where, in addition to writing jokes, he has had his countenance used in several unflattering mockup graphics. No, he can’t get you Jon Stewart’s phone number.

Alexander Zalben – A.K.A. the "Talented One," Alex has has performed in and/or directed shows at the Looking Glass Theatre, The Cherry Lane Theatre, and the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in NYC. In addition, he has written for Modern Humorist, and is the co-creator of X-Ball Online. His one-act play, "All's Swell That Ends, Will," was performed at the Telluride Theatre Festival. He has worked at Playwrights Horizons, the Public Theatre, Jean Cocteau Repertory, Dramatists Play Service, and currently Tisch's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program.
