![]() Note: The series is not finished by this stage, so the following synopsis might not be complete. "I dreamt it again," Noriko said to her classmates during one lunchtime. "I was in a world which was beyond this one. I was in a beautiful place, the translucent flowers were flowering, a small river, gold feathered birds, a sky that can't be painted and peaceful animals..." Unknown to her, it is very soon after she made the announcement that she is transported into this world. While getting a ball, a bomb in a package exploded in front of her and she finds herself in an unfamiliar setting. Afraid, and more than a little alarmed Noriko then found a dangerous worm like beast. Suddenly, a wandering warrior came and killed the monster. Relieved beyond belief, Noriko threw herself at him and began crying. Though he iss often curt with her, muttering in a language, which she does not understand she nonetheless felt safe with him and stayed at his side. It soon become evident more than a few people have also noted Noriko's presence in this world. Though Izaku, Noriko's own rescuer's motive remained elusive, we are given the sense that he did would not harm her on purpose. Noriko is refered as the "Bringer of Light", the person who is meant to be able to erase the darkness from this world. Such power is considerable to anyone who happens to hold her in their power. Chief among these people are Rachef, a governor of one of the city. His motive is also rather enigmatic, but it can be seen through his method that he is a ruthless and rather dangerous man. In the meantime, Noriko and Izaku continued on with their journey. They met and befriended a group of rebels who does not agree with the government. With continuous contact, Noriko and Izaku form a bond. It soon become evident that Izaku himself is a part of the darkness which Noriko's presence seems to supposedly eliminate. Though he himself had said during their first encounter that "one day I must kill her" (fine, so it contradicts with my earlier statement), his resolution slowly weakened (see there's a reason for that contradiction :P). Noriko's acceptance of his true form managed to pierce a lifetime's worth of pain and rejection. Though a reader may rejoice at this, there is also an awful impending sense of doom regarding their future together. It's perhaps this tragic, but tentative relationship, which makes the cornerstone of the entire tale.
There are heaps and heaps of minor characters who are introduced as the story progresses. I would love to list them all, but since this review is rather long, please go and search for them in other sites.
