How we met
Tom and I met through Match.com in September of 2002. As it turns out, one of his friends had been a co-worker of mine less than 4 months before Tom & I met! Sometimes when people asked how we met, we would say online and sometimes we would fib and say his friend introduced us. We started talking(lightly) of marriage around March, but nothing serious. Just things like "I would never let this song be played at our wedding". In late April we started looking at reception halls just for ideas on cost. I knew Tom was saving for a ring, but I was positive it would not happen until our anniversary in September - we were going to New Orleans. So when Tom proposed to me on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 I was surprised beyond belief. We were at a Carl Cacho concert(one of my favorite singers), and Carl played a song he had written for a friends wedding. After he finished playing it, he said "My friend Kevin played that song at a show he did on New Years of 2000, and afterwards, I proposed to my now-wife. I think there might be someone here who also wants to propose tonight." The whole audience gasped, and I looked at Tom and said "It's not you, is it?" and he nodded, got down on one knee, opened the ring box and asked "Will you?". I started crying right away, and finally realized I needed to say yes, which I did. It was so sweet, and so perfect for us! The crowd of 120 people clapped and cheered for us. It's a night I'll never forget.
