Modata-org began in 2000 as a collaboration between two friends to review the local music scene in Dallas/Ft. Worth. Work quickly reduced that to almost zero reviews and mostly gripes about work. Shortly thereafter Modata-org itself was reduced to zero. It resurfaced in 2004 as a group to develope web presence and advertising.

Founder N. Shane Martin has been involved in local music scenes in Paducah, KY, DFW, TX, and Nashville, TN. He has worked with local acts such as Typical Reject, Lovelorn, Lewis, Krakt, Tomorrow Comes Crashing, Dreaming Of The Fifth, Slipshod, Victory Gin and Realm. He has assisted with the web presence of Worlds Apart, PMac Music, The Door Dallas and others.

N. Shane Martin is a 2003 recipient of the Chancellor's Certificate in Web Design and Graphic Arts from the University of Missouri at St. Louis. He is currently employed by the Luther F. Carson Four Rivers Center for the Performing Arts.
