The
Club was the idea of four ardent postcard collectors who recognised the
widespread local interest in the hobby.
On This
was agreed, and a public meeting was arranged at which 27 interested persons
attended on The
Red Rose Postcard Club was born. The club flourished and in 1987 a book was
published containing 100 of the best postcard views of Monthly
meetings were held and membership grew to over 100. To satisfy demand postcard
fairs were held successfully at Canterbury Hall on Our
postcard fairs are held on the last Saturday in January, March, June and
September at Barton Village Hall, The
Club meets on the third Wednesday in each month at The
Club is recognised as the largest postcard club in the North of England. Free valuations are available at mutually convenient times for large and small postcard collections by experts who are also club members. |
