KESSE BIDS AU REVOIR
In fabled and stunningly beautiful Paris, France, Kesse, 21, from North Little Rock, Arkansas, became the sixth girl to be eliminated from the competition. Kesse flourished in Paris, dancing in subway cars and shopping in luxurious shops, even when a modeling challenge called her attention. Told that she lacked "fire," Kesse was cut, as both the girls and the judges were overcome with tears. Having formed tremendous bonds with the other girls, Kesse explained, "It hadn't really felt like a competition, 'cause we had been having so much fun hanging out." In her final moments, Kesse was overcome with emotion as reality dawned that for her, the competition was truly over.

GETTING OVER IT
Following Giselle's elimination, everyone regrouped at the Flatotel. Elyse and Adrianne hung out in Tokyo, getting used to having one less roommate. Adrianne acknowledged that when Giselle wasn't annoying her, she was pretty great, while Elyse reeled from being one of the final two in the elimination process. "It's incredibly stressful," she said, "I think I want the prize a little more now than I did at the beginning of the competition."

The separation between the two rooms, Tokyo and Milan, was even stronger in Giselle's absence. Shannon, Robin and Kesse spent a lot of time together reading their Bibles, while Elyse described her room as "more raucous and nude," definitely a place for more suggestive conversation. Kesse, however, seemed to cross the boundary dividing the rooms. "She's part of the holy room, and part of the Bible time," explained Elyse, "yet I think she's so funny, and I think she's coming out of her shell."

WILHELMINA
Tyra Mail announced that the girls were headed for Wilhelmina in the morning, and Adrianne was thrilled. "My whole life I've been trying to find a way to go to New York to go to a modeling agency," she said. Pink, director of the women's division at Wilhelmina, sat the girls down to clarify a few things. He pointed to a wall of photos and said, "You're looking at roughly two thousand to three thousand girls up for one or two positions, so you have to ask yourself, do you have what it takes?" He explained what was called a "go-see," in which a model would briefly visit and get to know a client on a day she's not working. "If you get four or five clients that are booking you once a month, you can make twenty, twenty five thousand a month," Pink said. Adrianne was astounded at that news.

Pink then gave the girls some professional advice on their pictures, and they put portfolios together. He said that he could send Elyse out on the basis of the snake shot alone. He recommended that Adrianne style her hair differently (not in a ponytail) for her client interviews, and told Robin to keep her accent, since people love accents in the business. Pink also noted that Shannon is in great shape, and encouraged the occasionally shy Kesse to let her personality come through.

PACK IT UP
Pink finally said, "I hope you guys learned something today, because we're sending you off to Paris." Everyone stared in disbelief. Shannon's mouth dropped open before she asked, "Are you serious?" Everyone was excited, with Adrianne tearing up because she'd never been outside the U.S. before. Pink added, "The one thing you have to remember going to Paris is that the intelligent model traveler packs one bag."

The girls had three hours to pack their one bag and move out, so it was a race to get everything together. Elyse observed, "Robin is going to have a pretty big problem with the one bag per girl rule... Doesn't look like it's going too well." Before they left, Elyse, Adrianne and Robin all called their boyfriends to say goodbye, while Shannon lamented that she'd never had a boyfriend at all. Although Shannon had a crush on a model named Brad Pinkert, whom she had seen in a magazine, she prayed in the isolation room, "Please, Lord, send me somebody sometime."

PARISIAN ADVENTURES AND A VERY SMALL ROOM
A long flight later, everyone arrived in Paris exhausted and ready to find their hotel. Elyse had visited her uncle in the city as a teen, but to the rest of the girls the City of Lights was a completely new world. Adrianne said, "This place is the most beautiful place in the world. New York was the most beautiful place in the world last week, but this week it's Paris." Once they arrived at the Hotel des Deux Acacias, the girls were shocked to find a small room containing three beds, one bathroom and not much else. "We're all living in the same room together," Shannon commented, "something's gonna happen!"

Elyse insisted that the girls draw straws to see who would get the beds, and who would end up on air mattresses on the floor. Adrianne cracked up, talking about how Robin ended up with one of the air mattresses, but Robin said later, "I'm not so special that I can't sleep on the air mattress." Later that night, the girls strolled the rain-dampened streets of Paris, taking in the sights and sounds of the city. Back at the hotel, it was a challenge for everyone to get ready for dinner in the same room, since some of the girls were a lot more modest than others.

Robin didn't appreciate Adrianne's occasionally vulgar comments, and said, "When Adrianne says things that are inappropriate, I might look at her, in the way a teacher would look at you if you did something inappropriate in class." Elyse said she didn't try to irritate Robin herself, but she knew Adrianne did, and she loved it.

Tyra met the girls at the restaurant and told them, "This city is responsible for the success of my career." She added that she was the one who decided to house them in the small hotel room, because that is the reality of the modeling business. Tyra's memories of the city were bittersweet, because it reminded her of when she left home for the first time, just out of high school. Kesse admired that, wanting to experience life away from home in that way.

Tyra Mail awaited them at the hotel, saying their first shoot would be the next morning at 7:30. As they were getting ready for bed, some of the girls thought Robin (dubbed "Miss Pageantry" by Adrianne) deliberately blow-dried her hair late into the night to spite them because she was sleeping on the floor.

BRAS AND BRAWN
Bright and early the next morning, the girls arrived at the Hilton for their photo shoot, the room backdropped with a fantastic view of the Eiffel Tower. Their photo shoot was for Wonderbra, so the girls were all fitted for bras and underwear. Shannon was shy, and Adrianne commented, "I think she's just so crazy, because she's never done anything. She's never touched herself, she's never watched a porn, she's never done anything." Shannon had a different opinion, saying, "My uncovered body is for one person to see, and that's my husband. I just don't think it's for the world to see." When art director/make-up artist Jay Manuel grilled Shannon on whether or not it was okay to masturbate, she responded, "I didn't know we could do it to ourselves."

Michel Haddi, photographer for the shoot, instructed the girls, "Be good, be bad, and be as bad as you can be." Shannon was up first, but what none of the girls knew was that they'd be posing with a scantily clad male model. When Shannon walked in, she was flabbergasted, even more so when she realized the model was none other than Brad Pinkert, her crush. "I didn't know whether to smile, whether to get red, whether to turn around and leave," Shannon said later. Michel encouraged her to wrap herself around Brad, and though she was a bit reluctant, she did it. Michel remarked, "Shannon is just a bit lost, but she's got a beautiful face."

Elyse was much more comfortable, noting, "Posing with Brad was like posing with a statue. I wasn't uncomfortable at all." Michel raved about her, saying, "She was fabulous...like a little fawn out of a Walt Disney movie." Kesse was unsure of her performance, and Michel said she was "too scared, that's the problem." Adrianne had no trouble with Brad: "I was supposed to be on fire, and I was." Michel commented, "She's got it. It's as simple as that." Robin was extremely uneasy about the situation with Brad, and said later, "some things you don't like, but you do because of the job." Michel said about her, "She's a fabulous girl, but she doesn't trust her own body."

DINNER AND...
Adrianne teased Shannon about her shoot with Brad, since she'd been drooling over him as long as they'd been in the competition. At that moment, Brad arrived wearing a robe, and asked them all out to dinner. Shannon grinned hugely and clapped, saying, "Yeah!" They all chimed in and agreed as well, and Shannon spent the next few minutes freaking out over seeing Brad. "I've been on dates, but not date dates," she enthused, and jumped around worrying about what to wear.

At the dinner, Robin tried to draw Shannon out with Brad, since she was so nervous, but conversation wasn't very easy. His favorite book was the Bible, but he didn't have a second favorite, saying, "I don't read too much." Adrianne knew he probably wouldn't be perfect for Shannon since his favorite movie was "Boogie Nights." Robin cajoled Shannon into going out with Brad to see the sights after dinner, though Elyse suspected it was more because of Robin's insistence rather than Shannon's own desire to go with him. The two ambled through the city, talking and enjoying the evening, and Brad gave her kisses on the cheek at the end of the night. Shannon was embarrassed when she returned, and the girls grilled her on what went on. Then she opened the Tyra Mail, which said to enjoy the next day, because that evening would be elimination night. Kesse was particularly dreading the elimination, saying, "I love them like we've been friends forever, and it's getting harder, you know, knowing that somebody's leaving."

METRO MISSTEPS
The next morning was to be used for go-sees, and Shannon was excited despite the stress of the situation. They went to the Marilyn Agency and met Marilyn, who introduced them to Emma Mackie, head of the New Faces division. They had five go-sees scheduled in a short period of time, and they had to go solo and only by Metro. Shannon was overwhelmed by the maps, and Robin didn't understand why they couldn't just take cabs. Elyse made it to her go-see first, while the other girls struggled with the system. Robin used her "pageantry skills, because a smile is universal," along with a little cash, to convince a Frenchman to help her navigate the city. Shannon got to her meetings as well, while Kesse allowed herself to get sucked into a shop filled with beauty products instead of making her third meet.

About her go-sees, Elyse remarked, "Carrying myself more confidently has been a forced effort. I've done it on purpose, and I think it might be working." While Robin flashed her smile in second meet, Adrianne had a miserable time navigating. To make matters worse, a man tried to shove his hand up her skirt on the street, which prevented her from going into one of her go-sees. The last meet was at a hotel, which turned out to be the location for the next elimination.

GETTING THE PICTURE
"Guys, I don't want to go home," Adrianne whined, beaten down from her difficult afternoon. After an interminable wait, the girls went in to see judges Tyra, Janice Dickinson, Kimora Lee Simmons, and Beau Quillian, with Marilyn as the guest for the week. Emma Mackie sat in to give the results of the go-sees. Elyse, who completed all her meetings, was up first, and got glowing marks on her photo, even though she didn't like the un-posed feeling of it. Janice slapped her on the wrist for criticizing herself, but Tyra applauded her honesty. Michel had told the judges Elyse was the best on the photo shoot, so she was very pleased.

Next was Shannon, who also completed her go-sees, but was described as beautiful but "too obvious," meaning too pretty. "Gotta have the edge, girl," Janice declared. Janice also liked her photo, but Beau felt she was still holding something back.

Adrianne admitted she only completed three go-sees, and that she'd had a lot of trouble with the Metro. Tyra said she felt like Adrianne was hiding herself with thick bangs, and asked her to push them back and not be afraid to reveal herself. None of the judges liked her photo much, saying the pose wasn't well thought-out.

Kesse also made only three go-sees, saying she lost track of time. Tyra was not impressed. Emma said that her feedback was that she "wasn't right for fashion," but Kesse took the words in stride. The judges felt that her photo was a little stiff, and didn't like the fact that they couldn't see her face.

Robin was last, and Beau questioned whether she felt she had cheated a bit in using a native to help her around the city. Robin's reply was an emphatic "no," but neither Janice nor Marilyn felt her decision was a smart one. The meeting feedback was that she could be used for "special shoots." Her photo was seen as angry, and Robin said, "I guess we didn't have a good time."

DELIBERATIONS
The deliberations began, and none of the judges were too keen on Robin this week. Marilyn said there was no market in Paris for plus-sized models, and Tyra wanted Robin to engage her own brain instead of someone else's. Marilyn felt Adrianne was still very green, and while Kimora admired her sexiness, Tyra felt she didn't look great for her go-sees. Janice liked Shannon's photo, but Beau pointed out that she wasn't taking good care of her hair extensions. Tyra said of Elyse, "In Paris, she is the strongest, in my opinion, and I knew that Paris would embrace her." However, Tyra wasn't sure Kesse has what it takes to make it in the business, even though Beau felt "personally invested in [her], and would like to see how far she can go."

KESSE'S TIME
Once again the girls lined up for the crucial moment of elimination. Thousands of miles from home, all the old familiar feelings returned, and everyone forgot they were standing in Paris, France. First, Elyse was saved from the knife as she was told, "You were the one girl who took Paris by storm." Shannon was saved next, and was advised to be more edgy, less safe. Robin was then called forward, and given her portfolio photograph. She was safe.

Kesse and Adrianne were then asked to step forward. Kesse was overcome with nervousness. Her heart was pumping as Tyra told her she needed to show the world she wanted and needed this. Adrianne was admonished for her appearance, and for hiding behind her hair, which had been in her face all day. "I only have one photo in my hands," Tyra calmly stated, and handed that photo to Adrianne.

Kesse was out. As Tyra handed the photo to Adrianne, her voice broke and tears overcame her. Kesse would be sorely missed. "When Kesse was eliminated, all the judges were crying that night," explained Tyra, "For some reason, that was a really hard one to let go."

"It hadn't really felt like a competition, 'cause we had just been having so much fun hanging out," Kesse explained. "I told them all that I loved them and good luck." The other girls were in tears as Kesse hugged them and packed her belongings. Kesse went on to explain, " Just leaving everybody was really the hardest on me." Kesse's final words expressed her pain at leaving the modeling world behind. At those words, Kesse's heart sank, and she was overcome with emotion. And with that, the sixth girl faded into the Parisian skyline.
