Featuring "Davy Crockett's Trial by Endurance!" has Davy and Georgie in all new weekly adventures. This is a wonderful strip beautifully drawn by Jesse Marsh, who really captures the likeness' of Parker and Ebsen. With numerous Dell comic books and Disney newspaper strip adaptations to his credit, Marsh at this time was well on his way to becoming the definitive Crockett and Fess Parker comic artist!
Davy Crockett Frontiersman: Sunday and daily newspaper strip by McArdle and Herron, ran from 1955-1957. This strip gave Davy a kid side-kick, named Jamie and also had a Georgie type, called Gabe . Six of the Sunday's had some ghosting by Gold and Silver Age artist Fred Ray. The same Fred Ray who also drew the "Young Davy Crockett" appearances for DC Comics' Tomahawk #'s 35&36 and the 1955 graphic novel "The Story of the Alamo ".
