Draft 2002, Runde 10 - 18,
22.9.2002
Name: Daniel Widing Selected by Nashville in the 2000 Entry Draft (2nd round) A strong skater with good straight-away speed - A hard-working two-way player who plays an aggressive game - A smart player who effectively reads the developing play - A fearless competitor and a very good defensive forward.
Runde 11, Tuomas Pihlman Name: Tuomas Pihlman Unlike most Finnish players, Pihlman plays a power forward type game, and with his size, he is able to play that style quite effectively. He does not back down from any physical challenge and can throw the body around with the best of them. He has good hands and a better than average shot.
Runde 12, Ruslan Zainullin Name: Ruslan Zainullin A skilled two-way player with a nice blend of size and skill. Zainullan is a great stickhandler and a good skater, although he lacks speed. He possesses a good scoring touch, a deadly shot and the ability to make the tape-to-tape pass to his teammates. He has great hockey sense and is very competitive. Is defensively responsible in his own zone and has the speed to catch players on the backcheck. Is used in all game situations, including the power-play and penalty kill.
Runde 13, Andrew Murray Name: Andrew Murray Scored 46 goals and 56 assists in 64 games for Selkirk... Led the team in both points and goals... Was second on the team in assists... Scored 14 power-play goals, three short-handed goals and six game-winning goals... Averaged 1.59 points per game... Was named Selkirk's Most Valuable Player, Best Local Player and Iron Man... Won the Top Scorer Award... Was a MJHL First-Team All-Star.
Runde 14, Stepan Mokhov Name: Stepan Mokhov At 6'1" 195 he will be able to evolve into a solid two way NHL defenseman. He is a strong forward and backward skater...Strong on his skates, hard to knock off balance...A good transition defenseman, who can move the puck up ice quickly. He plays in all game situations. Has a high skill level and a good understanding of the game. An instense player, he plays the body effectively and is hard to beat one-on-one.
Runde 15, John-Michael Liles Name: John-Michael Liles "At USA, he was a really solid player," said Ferguson, also
Liles' roommate. "Obviously, his skating and puck handling are his
two strengths. You knew he was going to be a great player. When he broke
out like he did his freshman year, I think it surprised a lot of people.
He played with a lot of confidence."
Runde 16, Peter Fabus Name: Peter Fabus "Peter is a tenacious player with touch around the net," Coyotes general manager Cliff Fletcher said. "Down the road, we feel that Peter has the potential to be a solid NHL contributor."
Runde 17, Justin Cox (getradet gegen Willie Levesque) Name: Justin Cox Excellent skater, very quick, improving offense, intense, good penalty
killer, budding leadership.
Runde 18, Brad Fast Name: Brad Fast Fast plays a well-rounded
game. He's a very good skater, who maneuvers well in traffic, and has very
good offensive instincts. A good point shot, and an excellent passer. One
problem, as per many youngsters, is hit strength. He needs to get stronger,
although I don't think it will jeopardize his career.
