91st TORONTO CUB PACKNEWSLETTERTuesday, November 1st, 2005 INVESTITURE: Note to Parents: At this week’s investiture, we will also be organizing and assigning our Sixes. As a new part of this process, each Six will be assigned a colour for the year. Each Cub will be given a coloured badge representing their Six. This badge should be sewn on the shirt, on the right sleeve below the Greater Toronto Council badge already in place. REMEMBRANCE DAY OBSERVANCE: Next Tuesday, November 8th. We will be having a guest speaker for this evening. A war veteran will be visiting with us, sharing some of his experiences, etc. We will also have on a display an historical piece relating to WWII, that belongs to the 91st Scouting Group. BADGE WORK AT TORONTO ZOO: Sunday, November 27th. This is something new that we are trying this year. We will spend the afternoon at the Toronto Zoo, during which time the Cubs will earn their World Conservation badge. Instruction will be provided by staff at the Zoo. Further details to follow regarding this exciting adventure. CHRISTMAS TREE SALES: This is our biggest fundraising event for the year and the one event where ask for lots of volunteers. The trees are being delivered sometime during the first week of December and the tree yard is then open every evening and weekend until the last weekend before Christmas or until we sell out, whichever comes first. Our tree yard is located at the Grant African Methodist Episcopal Church at 2029 Gerrard St. East (just east of Woodbine). Sometime over the next month or so, someone from Group Committee will be calling to see if you might be able to volunteer some time to help sell trees. We will also need volunteers to help unload the trees when they arrive at the yard. We will keep you posted on the arrival date. ANNUAL 91ST TORONTO CHRISTMAS PARTY: Tuesday, December 13th. At Glen Rhodes Church. Start time will probably be 6:30pm. Further details on this will be available later. Upcoming Events:
