On The Run

Like all Border Collies, Tory is fast. Patches is a speed demon. Because of that blazing speed, Patches plays out much quicker than Tory. Dogs are all different, and we have to be aware of the differences, for their sake.

Border Collies require a great deal of physical activity.

Our dogs are not farm dogs.
They are not acclimatized to outdoor living. Barns, by the way, are usually inhabited by many animals generating a great deal of body heat. There was no real need for a coat when we popped the milk stool between two milk cows and sat down to business.
It is imperative for our house companions to spend much of their time indoors during harsh winter days.
Their paws can and will freeze.

They aren't particularly enthralled with thunder storms either.
Border Collies are noise sensitive. They are not 'gun' dogs.
They can adjust to a life that has teenagers in their vicinity however.

OBSERVATIONS


Skunks are not dogs' best friends. Skunk/Dog encounters can be treated immediately. However, for many weeks, each and every time it rains, reminders of the encounter permeate the air. Wet dog doesn't begin to match that particular fragrance.
