Facilities
While attractions draw visitors from their homes, the facilities and infrastructure are necessary to serve visitors away from home. Facilities tend to be oriented to attractions in their location because of the need to locate close to where the visitors will want to be. These facilties do not necessarily create a demand for tourism themselves. They are present in order to support the tourist growth. Hence they tend to be be developed as attractions are developed and or discovered. It is possible for an attraction to all be a facility. A well-known and unique resort hotel may not only serve to draw people to an area but also satisfy their accommodation, food and beverage and leisure needs as well. Here in Dubai the best examples are the Burj Al Arab hotel and the Jumeirah Beach Resort.
Infrastructure
Attractions and facilties are not accessible to tourists until basic infrastructure needs of the destination are met. Infrastructure consists of all the underground and surface developmental construction of a region.
Infrastructure is not something a destination advertises. It is assumed that when the other components of the tourist product are promoted then the infrastructure that facilitiates these components exists. However, in travel guides and travelogues infrastructure is almost always mentioned, especially when the country is considered to be a developing country. The United Arab Emirates is considered to be amongst the list of developing countries.
For the purposes of this project, you are to include infrastructure on your web page. Consider incorporating the following:
