Year 2002 in a Nut Shell Hello again and welcome to another year! In December of 2001 we left all of our friends in Florida for Germany with a small pit stop in Michigan. We all had a blast. All the cousins were able to play with each other. We drove to Wisconsin to see my grandparents too. The kids had fun spending time with their extended family. January left us with a new home in a new country. We moved to Germany. We live in a small town called Kleinwehrhagen. It is located on the border of Germany, Netherlands and Belgium. It is great! I am working in the NATO AWACS Training Wing, in the Software Training Division, in charge of scheduling computer software classes for all NATO personnel. It is a good job that keeps you busy. It is definitely a unique experience working with the many different nationalities. It is funny to have 4 or 5 different nationalities in one class and the German/Italian or Spanish instructor is teaching in English. Americans are pretty lucky to have almost the whole world know our language. I have recently decided to join Lawson in continuing my education. I found out that I am very close to my CCAF (Community College of the Air Force) Degree, so I jumped on the school bandwagon. Since everyone knows English I decided I might as well try and understand what my neighbors are saying. So, the first class I took was German 111. I will be starting German 112 this term. And, yes I am keeping up with Lawson's A's. Lawson and I have just celebrated our 9th Anniversary! Who would of thought! We can hardly believe it ourselves! In my 11+ years of service I have never worn by Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical (NBC) gear. Being overseas has broken that record for me. What do you think. Is it me? Keep looking at the years gone by and years to follow... |
