unlike thursday, my friend Beth and I were up on the side for friday (damn!) but it was cool to have a view of all the stuff going on, not just being transfixed by the presence of the blond god on stage in front of me. friday night i actually saw kevin and the other boys! ;-)

anyway, binoculars are a good thing...

some of you will remember that we purchased a blue t-shirt for nick that said 'your girlfriend thinks i'm hot' in blacklight reflective writing. well, as Beth will tell you, I throw like a girl, so it hit the walkway on thursday night and bounced off. well, we're sitting there before the show on friday and i'm peering around with the binoculars, trying to ID security folk and see under the stage (i'm a geek, but i love it when i can see what's up in the pit and backstage! that stuff fascinates me!)... so i look onto the walkway and go, 'Beth that thing is still covered with silly string and stuffed animals... OH MY GOD IT"S THE SHIRT!" apparently, someone from the other side of the bidge had found the shirt and thrown it back up for us. there it sat the entire show, just waiting for SOMEONE to look down.

no one ever did. ;-(

but it was still there at the end, so you if anyone sees a roadie wearing it, will you please tell him that it was gift for NICK! knew we should have tagged it! (live and learn, i suppose!)

another fun 'behind the scenes' moment - we've been wondering since the first concert how the boys actually get from one end of the venue to the other so they can pop up on the small screen. we saw 'nsync (yes, we had to... it's like comparison shopping!) earlier this summer and they start on their small screen and are actually WHEELED in through the crowd in gig boxes. we thought that was clever! but bsb (in NJ anyway) get whisked into the back of the arena and totally unnoticed by most people -- there were a few women by that entrance, but mostly they were keeping everyone back -- because they were dressed as security guards. that was just too cute! i wanna picture of nick in the security jacket and ball cap, let me tell you!

and another odd thing... during 'i promise you' nick just sat there the entire time and barely looked up, even when he was singing. it was weird. i actually felt bad for the nick fans near the small stage, 'cause they weren't feeling the nick love on friday. ;-( and to go with that, i actually saw someone get film taken out of their camera, someone handed the roll to NICK'S bodyguard and he EXPOSED it. I was completely completely shocked. it wasn't like this was venue security or something, but nick's guy. just thought that was weird. i mean, what kind of incriminating shots could be on that roll? it's not like everyone wasn't taking pictures -- even right in front of him as he was exposing someone's film. (that having been said, they were more strict about cameras on the second night. as we were coming in one of the security staff asked me 'do you have a camera' - well hell, the only thing IN my purse was a camera so what was I gonna say? i said, 'yes, are you going to take it from me?' in this polite, yet incredulous voice and she just waved me through. okay....

but the nick's bg thing just has me kinda weirded out. anyone else see bsb security be obnoxious about cameras? i was always under the impression that the guys didn't mind cameras so much....

and then there was the new song. but i'm sure everyone has posted about that. *sigh* love it love it love it and LOVE that we got to hear it first, of course!
