Savannah, Georgia

The Book, namely "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" has sparked a lot of interest in the city of Savannah. I took one such tour the Saturday prior to St. Patrick's Day. The tour goes to many of the sites talked about in the Book. Most of my pictures are of Bonaventure Cementary and of a few houses on the tour.

Bench

For those of you who have read the Book, this is the bench in Bonaventure Cemetary where two of the characters would sit and drink martinis...It is the tombstone for a famous Savannah poet

Mercer House
Mercer House--the scene of the crime

Mercer House

Built Johnny Mercer's grandfather (Johnny never lived there), Jim Williams renovated this beautiful old house.

Haunted House

Also renovated by Jim Williams, this house is considered one of the most haunted houses in Savannah.

Mercer grave

One of Savannah's favorite sons, Johnny Mercer wrote hundreds of songs, including "Moon River", "You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby", and "And the Angels Sing".
