New Start for Women's Basketball Team
by Sarah Hamilton - Editor - in - Chief

There has been drama in the women's basketball team this year. It started with the shocking, disappointing news at the beginning of the year, that Coach Amber Daulbaugh was leaving.

The girls had every emotion running, but they knew she had to do what was best for her. With this bad news, the expanded team from last year, knew they needed to come together even more to get through this year.

This year the team has grown to 17 girls compared to the eight from last year. The team is made up of Seniors: Jessie Koerkenmeier, Jackie Koerkenmeier, Michelle Woelfel, Sophomores: Randi Roberts, Sarah Hamilton, Staci Smithson, and Freshmen: Jeanna Cryder, Rocio Llamas, Jennifer Petersen, Krystina Cnota, Meghan Polston, Nikki Kowalcyzk, Sarah Jorn, and Stefany Jaso.

The team is supported by Seniors Guzel Davis and Rachel MacPherson who are unable to play this time around. The end of September should bring in a permanent coach for the women. The administration is deciding who to hire so the girls will be ready for the season to start in November. The women's first home game is Nov. 18 2005.
