I ended up just dropping him off around 9, since he knew he’d have to be there at least an hour or more. The kids hadn’t eaten and wouldn’t have been easy to handle, even in the playroom. Around 10:30 or so I got a call from the nurse at quacks office and she said I had to come get him NOW and take him to Dr. Ellingsen. Warren has Glaucoma, and Dr E is the glaucoma specialist. “quack” got on the phone and told me they couldn’t get his pressure down, even with the drops and they just gave him another pill that will make him REALLY sick to his stomach, boy did it ever. As we got him in the car (the sweet nurse and I) he was sitting here for not even a couple minutes when he used the plastic bag the nurse had given him. He threw up 3 times! Poor guy. So I rushed him to Dr. E’s on the other side of town. We weren’t there 10 minutes when another nurse brought Warren to me and sent us down to the surgical center next door. He had to have emergency eye surgery (laser) to poke a hole in his iris to relieve the pressure. He was finally rolled out by “Liz” a sweet heart of a nurse. She told Warren after we saw Dr E again (we had to go right back over to Dr E to make sure the surgery worked) that he should go home and sleep. Warren told her it wasn’t fair to me, cause I hadn’t slept either last night and I kept telling him I’d be fine. Liz told Warren that women can handle no sleep better than men. Especially moms, she should know cause she is the mother of 10! 2 of them are Doctors and 2 of them are nurses! I told her thank you, and she gave Warren and hug and said “God Bless” and shut his door. I want to go back and see her again. I just adored her! So we got back to Dr E’s and they found his eye pressure was down to 10! YAY! So it worked. Warren had his eye taped shut right after the surgery because he didn’t have any control over it at all. Dr E had removed the tape but his eye was laying shut, and he couldn’t move it at all! How weird. We finally got home, Warren slept for 3 hours. He was feeling better, the headache had finally went away. He now has a hole in his eye that you can SEE! It’s small but you can see it. If you look into his eye, it’s at the 11 O’clock position on the iris. His pupil in that eye is almost all the way closed. Hopefully only temporary. We went back to the quack yesterday and his pressure was down to 7! Even better. So basically what we found out was this; If QUACK had removed the cataract when Warren asked him to, Warren wouldn’t have glaucoma. He wouldn’t have any of these problems. Quack refused to remove it, he was “afraid” to, but yet, wouldn’t refer Warren out to anyone. I am NOT happy and if Warren has damage to his retina then quack is going to have some ‘splainin to do to me, and a few lawyers. You can’t tell me he didn’t know that cataract could cause Warren trouble, mainly glaucoma. Warren was at risk for glaucoma already, quack is the one who told him that. So he is the one who let this happen to Warren, and probably really ruined what vision Warren did have in that eye. Dr E said they’re going to remove the cataract. Dr E is the one who got the ball rolling. Only NOW does quack say the same thing. “Yeah, Dr QUACK if you would have removed it before, when Warren was complaining about his headaches and vision or lack there of, from the cataract, he wouldn’t have this trauma to his eye he does now.” I am NOT a happy camper. I think I embarrassed Warren yesterday in quacks office. I was saying out loud what I thought of quack himself. Sorry honey =c) But when I see something is wrong, or I see someone is mistreating someone else, I don’t let it pass without them knowing how I feel. I am my mother’s daughter! We go back next week to see quack or if I can help it, to see Dr E. And will probably schedule the surgery then. I’ll let you know. Today, Joshua had his 1 yr well child check, and vaccines. He got his MMR, his chickenpox and his one for meningitis. They weighed him he weighs 24lbs 3 oz and he is 33inches long! He’s so tall. The doctor, Dr. Ramos- Dias, our favorite pediatrician there at valley Young peoples clinic, is leaving at the end of this month =( I am so bummed. She always is so sweet to the boys, the boys adore her, and trust her. She remembers us, and things about us, every time we go in. She’s great! But I understand her need to move on, and we’ll miss her. She told me, she’ll miss the boys, and that she thought, the boys were great, and young gentlemen, and she said she always enjoyed taking care of them. She then told me Warren and I are great parents to the boys, because of how they are, and how good they always are. And she said I take very good care of them. That was so nice to hear. I told her we’re going to miss her and how badly the boys will miss her. Lucky Yakima Washington. Here is a comparison between the 3 boys as far as what they weighed and measured at this age… Joshua, 13 months 33 inches 24 lbs 3 oz Ryan at 14 months he weighed 25.5 lbs but at 16 months he was 33 inches and 27lbs. So he weighed more and was shorter at this age. Austin 14 months 34 inches long and 24 lbs. It’s always amazing to see how big the other 2 were at this age. =c) They’re all 3, perfect, no matter what though. That’s about it for now. Thanks for reading!! |
