Using MemoServ on SpeedFusion

MemoServ is a service on SpeedFusion that allows you to send 'private' messages to any other registered user on SpeedFusion, whether or not they are 'online' at the time. To use MemoServ, just use the following steps. You can practice them by sending/reading/deleting/etc the messages to yourself... to familiarize yourself with how it works.

  • To List any messages currently in your MemoServ inbox, type in /msg MemoServ list . It will list your messages (if any) each with a number assigned.
  • To READ messages in your MemoServ inbox, type in /msg MemoServ READ [#].

    EX: /msg MemoServ READ 1

  • To SEND a memo to another registered user on SpeedFusion, type in /msg MemoServ SEND [Nick to send to] [text of message]

EX: /msg MemoServ SEND SpeedFusion Meet me in #trivia when you get online.

You should receive a confirmation on your screen that the message was sent to the intended person.

  • To Delete a message from your inbox, type in /msg MemoServ DELETE [#]

    EX: /msg MemoServ DELETE 1

You can test this service, and familiarize yourself with the commands by sending messages to yourself. Sending a message to yourself, can also be used as a reminder if you are in the habit of 'checking' your MemoServ inbox each time you come on to the server.
