No, we are not talking about the Olympics. We are talking about
the Team Tsinghua winning 30 Gold at the NCCAF 2004.
On August 8th, 2004, Sunday, over 30 athletes in team Tsinghua
competed in over 40 events of NCCAF field & track games. We
won over 30 gold medals and even more silver and bronze medals.
The Tsinghua Team 4x100m led by former Tsinghua track star Xia
Cai broke the NCCAF record by several seconds (can you believe
it?). We also broke many other NCCAF records by wide margins.
Team tsinghua started the day by forming a square with beautiful
girls and handsome boys and marching through the statium.
Then they did a wonderful job by taking over the most comfortable
place in the whole statium and having the tsinghua flag visible
even from Los Angeles. The service crew provided ample support
to our athelets from early morning all the way to the day's end,
in both mental and physical fronts.
With a little bit extra energy, they also formed a tug-o-war
team that beat almost everyone (except last year's champion team,
who practiced so hard that their captain lost 10 pounds before
the game).
What a day it was! Even though we had left Tsinghua Yuan for
many years, even though we were thousands of miles away, on this
day, we all felt we were back to our alma mater, and we surely
did not disappoint anyone who shared the same name -- Tsinghua'er.
