Charles Davis heirs land warrant request, Jessamine Co, KY (3)
Hannah Davis widow of late Charles Davis states that she was married to the
said Charles Davis about the year 1783 in the state of Virginia and lived
together in that state about 13 years and then moved to Kentucky where they
lived together untill his death which happened about the year 1807. He drew
a pension from the state of Virginia about 20$ (Perannum?) - a few years before
he left that state untill afterward to within a few years of his death. A few
years of the last he gave, as I undestood, a power of attorney to a certain
John Hawkins to collect the arrears of his pension - before the return of
Hawkins Sd. Charles Davis died and I know not whether he collected it or not
never having seen Hawkins affidavid.
She further states the following are the children and legal relatives of the
Sd. Charles Davis (*vis) James Davis. Polly Heath late Polly Davis. Elizabeth
White late Elizabeth Davis, Sally Kersey late Sally Davis and Mary Lewis
daughter of Nancy White late Nancy Davis a daughter of said Ch's Davis
She further states that the acct's given to her of the enlistments and time of
service by said Charles Davis corresponds with the attc'd affadavit of Thos Davis
his brother herewith transmitted.
