Spotlighting Satire and Scholarships

The Tulsa Press Club Educational and Charitable Trust (the Gridiron) provides journalism/communication scholarships to students at the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma State University, Northeastern State University, Tulsa Community College and the University of Oklahoma. The trust has established endowments at the University of Tulsa in memory of Phil Dessauer, longtime Gridiron chairman and Tulsa World editor, and at the University of Oklahoma in memory of Julie Blakely, esteemed women's section editor of the Tulsa World.

Gridiron donates scholarship money

The Tulsa Press Club Educational and Charitable Trust, better known as the Gridiron, has distributed $6,000 to state institutions for scholarships.

The Phil Dessauer Memorial Endowment at the University of Tulsa received $2,500; Oklahoma State University $2,000; Tulsa Community College $500; Northeastern State University $500; and the Julie Blakely Endowment at the University of Oklahoma $500.
