bulletHow do I know if my child is swimming in a meet?

B meets are open to all swimmers.  The only restriction is that any swimmer who placed in the top 3 in an event at the previous A meet may not swim that event at the B meet.  Swimmers should sign up with the coach each week on Monday or Tuesday.  The swimmer may choose which events to swim in a B meet.

The coach tells swimmers on Thursday or Friday who will be swimming which events at that week's A meet.  Swimmers are limited to 3 events plus relays.  The A meet list is also posted on the bulletin board at the pool.

bulletWhat is the difference between A meets and B meets?

A meets are regulated by the Montgomery County Swim League (MCSL).  A meets are scored, and the scores are used at the end of the season to determine the placement of the teams within the division.

B meets are not regulated.  They are not scored.  However, the MCSL rules for swimming the strokes are applied.  B meets are a good way for swimmers to gain  valuable  meet experience in a fun atmosphere.
