Tankoban Vol. 1 with Black & White scans
Dov wanted to know if I was going to do any more... really, all you have to do is bug me! ^_^ One of the things I'm able to provide is more scans and (attempted) translations of the chapter titles, and maybe a little bit of a teaser for each chapter, so here you have some information on the first volume. Just click on the images to get a larger version!
If anyone's interested, I scanned these on an Umax Astra 1200S on B&W Photo setting and at 600 dpi, then reduced them to 72 dpi in Adobe Photoshop.
Feel free to correct me on my title translations... I'm not very good at it.

Stage 1: "Twinkle Debut". The story begins with the two members of Twinkle in concert... after the show, the head backstage, and we discover that beautiful Ayumi is in fact a guy, and he's not too thrilled about the position he's been put in... then we get a flashback that explains exactly how they got to this point to begin with... |

Stage 2: "Abunai (Risky) Idol". Okay, posing as your girlfriend's female singing partner is one thing... but now they want the Twinkle pair to take part in a swimsuit photo shoot! How can Ayumi pass as a girl in only a swimsuit? (Hikaru wastes no time putting Ayumi to the test here!) |

I don't know why, but there are two title pages for Stage 3... the first isn't a full page illustration, but there are places in the manga where you simply don't get a full-page chapter title illustration... this time, you get it both ways! I like the full-page below better... |

Stage 3: "Giniro no Sportswriter", ie "Sportswriter of Silver"? This story takes place at New Year's, and includes skiing and a large outdoor concert. |

Stage 4: "Shutter Chance". The Twinkle duo are stalked by a fan with a camera. |

Stage 5: "Marimo no Pinch, Part 1" which I take to mean "Marimo in a Pinch". Marimo takes Ayumi to see an idol singer she likes... Kunihiko Hareda and they end up going out on the town with him. Soon Kunihiko has Marimo drunk and in his room, where he plans to take advantage of her... meanwhile, Ayumi is with one of "Kuni-chan's" biggest fans... literally... a muscular and obviously gay transvestite who, unlike Ayumi, was never meant to dress as a woman... |

Stage 6: "Marimo no Pinch, Part 2". Ayumi needs to save Marimo... but can he save himself from the same fate? Maybe his new friend can help... |

Stage 7: "Soba ni Iro ne". Here's where my poor translation skills show through. "Soba ni" would be "close to" or "near to" and "iro" wold be "shade, tint, color". So, "Close to a certain shade?" would be my best guess. The story itself is about a hat. Honest. It's lost, and eventually they find it again... cute chapter picture!!! ^_^ |
