The story centers around Goku and the seven dragon balls. The dragon balls are mystical spheres. When seven are put together, you can summon the eternal dragon. Once the dragon is summoned, you can make any wish as long as its in its power. Goku spends most of protecting the dragon balls to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands. He comes to learn he is a saiya-jin in the beginning of DBZ. Not until later, he realizes he is a super saiya-jin, then uses the power he has to protect the universe. The story twists and turns from there and there are always fights or at least comedy.
DBZ has great, exciting battles. The battles with the more powerful enemies tend to be 2 - 10 episodes long! With all this action, the show never gets boring. The show does get repetitive though. The freeza saga has over 60 episodes alone!!! The show also has some comedy, but not much. The story is not of my taste either, they go from enemy to enemy each one stronger than the last.
DBZ is a great anime with a LOT of action!!! It is a great show, just not the best...
Bottom Line: Great Show, as long as you can wait 8 - 60 episodes for one saga to finish...
