Zechs is a mobile suit pilot, not a GUNDAM pilot. He doesn't get a gundam 'til late in the story. Zechs was a soldier of OZ, but quit once his mask broke (dumb reason ain't it?). He may have had another reason to quit, but thats all I know. Zechs is a great pilot with abilities greater than some gundam pilots. Zechs has a reaction speed that is surprisingly high (or unsurprising to hardcore fans)... He doesn't show much emotion in the show. Zechs is not a pacifist, even though he is a Peacecraft, he fights for revenge against those who attacked the Sanq Kingdom. Zechs is a great pilot over-all and mastered the ZERO system.
