Odd man/one out is a game that one have to find one good reason, over and above all others, why one of the options given in a puzzle is the odd one out or simple to say, that option is different from the others. One has to put their mind to work to investigate all possibilities and use a great deal of creative thinking to solve the puzzle.
To illustrate how the game is played, we take up an example: WHICH THE ODD ONE OUT? - DIANA, MARY, DEIRDRE OR CAROL? The very first thing we need to investigate is what all of them have in common? Well they are all names of ladies. Therefore who is the odd woman out? The answer is DEIRDRE, because the other three are names of three US States: INDIANA , MARYLAND and CAROLINA.
Odd man out is one IQ test to test for mental ability as well as visual ability. The next couple of examples will only test on mental ability. Try to test your ability to investigate!

ANSWERS:
O.(1) : When replace all spell out LYNX, CEDAR, ELAND, CAMEL, LLAMA, BULL. Therefore CEDAR is the odd one out because the rest are animals.
O.(2) : LIMOUSINE à Because the rest contains number in words: TELEPHONE, FREIGHTER, DRIFTWOOD.
