Word puzzles are of two types. One is word games and the other is crossword puzzles. Word games are games like rearranging breakdown words to form a new word or playing with vocabulary. This is one of the types for subtest call the vocal subtest of IQ testing. The other type of word puzzle is the crossword puzzle. Crossword puzzles are attempted by an enormous number of people, more popular amongst the Westerners, everyday all over the world and in Multilanguage.

Crossword puzzles are puzzles that one has to fill in the missing boxes, mostly white boxes, with answers that relate to clues given. Clues are given in various forms. They can be in sentences or even in paragraphs. Most clues are in the form of a one word clue. One has to think what the clues mean or find similar words to match the number of boxes given.

Word games that play with vocabulary are like what a group of words have in common or as mentioned rearranging breakdown words. Some are like number sequence but in words. Even magic squares can have words other than numerals.
