Posoh! Hello my friends how are you? My name is Kaylene Tucker. I am of Menominee and Arikara Nations. If chosen as princess I will represent all Native Americans throughout  Indian Country the best that I can. I will try to be a good role model for others and encourage them to seek their education and stay away from drugs and alcohol. Also, I want to help my peers understand respect for our elders and nature, because this is very important to me.

Why do you want to be Princess?

I would be honored to represent all Native Americans, not just my own tribes. It would be a great honor to hold this title and show others just how much pride I have as a Native American.

Explain your Outfit:

Cheryl Wynos, who chose my colors after seeing me dance, made my outfit for me. She told me I was a very talented dancer who needed some brightness to help me stand out. I helped my mother make some of my beadwork for this dress, and I'm proud of the job done by all three of us.

What makes you proud to be Native American?

I'm proud to be Native American because of our respect for our elders and of nature. To our people everything has a spirit and should be taken care of.

What is the most important thing to you right now?

My education is the most important thing for me right now. Through my education at school and lessons from my elders I will learn all the things to make me successful in life.

Tell me about your Tribes?

My Menominee people are traditional wild rice harvesters. We are proud of our sawmill, our logging museum and our traditions. The Arikara are strong believers in being brought up  traditionally. Our ceremonies are very sacred and special to us, because we use them to heal and help others in their times of need.

Why do you think you qualify to be Princess?

I am a responsible person and I respect others for who they are. I do not judge people and I am very proud of my Native American Heritage. I love to dance and to to powwows whenever I can.

Anything else you would like to add?

Just that I am happy to be running for Princess and no matter what happens, I will be proud of myself for trying my best.

What's your best quality?

I'm very friendly. I have a lot of friends and I always like to make everyone around me happy!
