Episode 1: Fooly Cooly
The opening scene is with Naota and Mamimi at the riverside, under a bridge.
"Legs spread, same width as the shoulders, body tight, then hit the ball like your defeating the enemy, here the pinkie finger is the key, and then you just hit, hit, hit, ka-king! Bingo!" Mamimi says while swinging a bat left-handed.
"What are you talking about?" Naota comments.
"He who conquers the left side conquers the world, chi. Setting the parameters, that's really the hard part."
"You talking about a video game?"
"Hmmm? Ta-kun, what are you doing?"
"Homework."
"Then why don't you do it at home?"
"It's not cool."
"You can do my homework too if you want, huh?"
"Your hands are upside down."
"Huh? Ooooooh... you should play baseball too, Ta-kun. Why do you always carry around a bat?"
"Why do you always hang around by the river?"
"Because you know! Huh... now why was it?"
"Your in a good mood... huh?"
Mamimi drops the bat and her eyes glow eerily. She comes up behind Naota and puts her hands on his wrists and snuggles.
"You smell like cigarettes, the strong ones." Naota tells her.
"I haven't been smoking." Mamimi says snuggling.
"Mamimi, why do you always do this?"
"Earlobes..." Mamimi says while cuddling around Ta-kun's ears.
"Huh? Ow!"
"If I don't do it I'll over flow." Mamimi says hugging Ta-kun by the sparkling river.
"What do you mean? What'll happen?"
"Probably, something amazing."
Mamimi drags Ta-kun onto the grass and snuggles with him while he stares into the sky.
Nothing amazing happens here, everything is ordinairy, the huge factory that can be seen from our town, the Medical Mechanica plant, all the adults got excited when it came here, like it was really a big thing.
The Medical Mechanica plant, which looks like an iron, then billows out white smoke.
The white steam that billows out everyday at the same time, it looked to me like smoke that signified some kind of omen. Smoke that spreads out and covers everything.
White steam spreads out all around the plant and the screen blacks out to the Title Screen.
We see a young looking woman on a yellow Vespa eating some food. She's looking through 'Mamiya' binoculars and eating making loud chomping noises.
Naota and Mamimi are at a soda machine and Mamimi picks the soda suddenly and takes a drink from it.
"You know I don't like sour drinks." Naota says exaustedly.
"Ahhhh... huh? Oh look, a mark. Wow, how bout a band-aid?" Mamimi says as she sees a hickey she had given to Ta-kun on his neck.
"Huh?" Naota hurriedly covers the mark.
"Here." Mamimi gestures to give Naota the soda.
"What?"
"It's yours, isn't it? There's more than half left, chi." She hands him the soda and starts walking away.
He looks down at the soda picturing a jet flying over head signifying his brother going to America and a letter from his brother. He throws the soda away.
"You know what? My brother in the U.S..."
Mamimi stops walking and the clouds over head clear up. A faint engine sound can be heard behind Ta-kun. He turns around and sees a blue guitar hit the ground.
"Alright! Laaaaaaunch tiiiiiime!" Haruko screams.
She spins her guitar over head like a helicopter and heads toward Ta-kun. But, her Vespa runs over that soda can Naota threw away and she veers and hits Naota. He spins in the air like a top and his bat goes flying, Mamimi snaps a picture while saying, "Already?" Naota hits the ground hard and does a somersault while his bat lands a few feet away.
"Ta-kun!"
"Stop!" Haruko yells while holding her hand out in a stop gesture and twirling it.
"Huh?" Mamimi says confused.
"Native girl must stop. Taro-kun just hit his head, so you can't move him yet, do you understand?"
"Huh? But he isn't Taro-kun..."
Haruko slaps him and Naota's body turns over. His face is blue and he is drooling.
"He's dead, this young boy is completely dead, just as Taro would be!" Haruko gasps while Mamimi snaps a picture.
"But he's not Taro like I said. His name's Naota, I'm his girlfriend, you know? He's kinda cute don't you think." Mamimi tries to explain while Haruko is mumbling to herself.
"Ooooooh! I killed him! I finally find who it has to be and I killed him! But it was an accident, kinda, awwww... let's face it I definitely, totally killed him just like that! Bang! No more like, thong, ka-bam, or kunk, ka-kunk, splat!" I think it is established that Haruko is... different.
"Hai!" Haruko throws off her helmet and goggles high up into the air and her eyes sparkle for the camera.
"Come back to life!" Haruko says after wiping off Ta-kun's face.
"Ahhhhhhhh..." Mamimi says jealously.
Haruko gives him a slow-motion kiss or CPR while Mamimi is screaming, the helmet and goggles finally hit the ground.
Cutscene to the inside of the actor's trailer.
"Those slow motion scenes are really tough." Haruko says while fanning herself.
"Yah, you have to hold your breath until they cut." Mamimi says reading a magazine.
"You can get cramps from that, you know?" Haruko comments.
"What? I thought it was a special effect! Your doing the slow motion?" Naota interrupts.
Screens makes buzzing noise as the behind-the-scenes section gets blanked out by a red 'X'. Back to the show.
Naota twitches and Haruko finally pulls her head up with an 'Ah' of satisfaction.
"All right! And Taro-kun is back!"
"It's not Taro, ok?" Mamimi says again.
"Oh really? That was close then, cause if it was Taro, he would of turned into another statistic. Death by motorbike. I lucked out! Round two!" Haruko says and fires up her guitar.
She hits Ta-kun again and he goes flying like a top. She grabs Ta-kun by the feet and shakes him up and down.
"Hmmm... it's not coming out, maybe I should hit him again?"
"Stooooooop!" Mamimi grabs Naota away from Haruko.
"He hit his head, alright? You said yourself we shouldn't move him." Meanwhile, Haruko is digging in her ear.
Naota suddenly jumps up and grabs his head in pain, he has a huge red circle on his forehead.
"What did you do to me!?" He demands.
"CPR, what do you think I did?"
"That's not what I meant!" Naota starts spitting.
"Did she put her tounge inside?" Mamimi inquires.
"You are useless!" Haruko shouts.
"What are you talking about!?" Naota yells back.
Haruko sticks her tounge out and fires her Vespa up and rides away, shooting dust high into the air and rolling cars over. The force also pushed Mamimi and Ta-kun backwards.
"Oooooh! She's very fast! She's atleast 20 years old... do you need a doctor?"
"A stupid adult that doesn't know how to grow up."
"Does it hurt?"
The scene shifts to Ta-kun's bedroom, it's night time and he is sitting at his desk, which is in his room. He has a bunk bed and a balcony, also.
"Ow! Ow, ow, ow, ow. It doesn't look like a normal bump. I can't go to the hospital like this." Naota smiles grimly into the mirror and surveys the horn. He gently pushes it back in his head.
"Guess I just need to hold it. Oh, what do I do in school tomorrow?" He lets his hand up. And the horn pokes back out quickly.
"Ow! Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow."
The scene shifts to Naota sitting at his desk in his classroom. The girl talking to him is Ninamori, followed by Gaku and Masashi. Naota has covered up the horn with a band-aid and two pieces of tapes, crossing diagonally.
"That really looks bizarre, your hiding something, huh? Come on." Ninamori infers.
"Don't be such a brat." Naota retorts.
"Naota, Naota! Did you hear?" Gaku asks, being a sort of perve.
"What?"
"The Vespa woman!"
"Vespa? A wasp woman?"
"She has a guitar." Says Masashi.
"And a Kurusaku bike!" Gaku says excitedly.
"Not exactly." Masashi disagrees.
"Some girl in the other class had her super spicy curry bread stolen!" Gaku replies.
"Super spicy?" Ninamori speaks up.
"And, and, when she stings, she leaves a demon's mark that shows you've been doing naughty things and it never goes away!" Gaku practically screams.
"What naughty things?" Ninamori asks.
"Ummm... well..."
"Something really perverted." Masashi finishes.
"Ah? Perverted?" Gaku says off guard.
"So, what's that mark?" Ninamori grins as she looks at the hickey on Naota's neck.
"It's the mark of the demon!"
"Really!? Let me see!" Masashi vocalizes.
"There's nothing to see! Cut it out!" Naota yells.
"Did you see her Naota?" Gaku declares.
"Did she sting ya?" Masashi says.
"Pervert, he's a pervert!" Gaku screams.
"What are you talking about!?" Naota asks.
"Pervert!"
Nothing amazing happens here, everything is ordinairy, so it's not a punishment when I go see Samejima Mamimi, it's just something I always do. It's ordinairy. After school I decided to go to the hospital, I didn't want to think about that Vespa woman. Scene changes to Naota standing at a train crossing with the bars down, lights blaring and blinking red. It is right after school. "Hmmm..." Haruko says while scoping out Naota's head. "Yah, this is just right, has a good feel too. So, what happened yesterday after I left? Did something happen? Heeeeeey, something did happen didn't it?" "I don't know what your talking about." Naota declares. "What's that? A pimple?" Haruko says after seeing the band-aid. "Looks kinda sick, putrified, your not hiding something are you? Huh?" Naota had jumped the railroad blockers and was running to the hospital, the train finally comes. Scene changes to inside the hospital where Naota is laying on a bed with a blind fold on to shield his eyes from the light shining on him. We see the nurse's awesome bracelet. "Hmmmm... Flictonic Clip of the Waver Symptom? Adolescent Psychological Skin Hardening Syndrome, it's a common disease for children who grow horns for trying too hard." "That's a lie, I've never heard that before." "Yah, I lied, so what is the truth? Underneath the band-aid?" Haruko reveals her identity as Naota turns over and takes off his blind fold. "What are you doing in the hospital!?" Naota dodges a guitar swing. "Stay right there, I'm gonna make you feel ALL better!" Haruko's eyes are glowing red. "AHHHH!" "It's my special treat!" The fight is shaking the whole hospital. "Huh? Where'd he go? Hey... hey... Taro-kun!" Naota is outside and starts running. If you are watching on Adult Swim, there is a commercial now.
