Extemporaneity
jesteRoyal: hmm. . .I'm siting on the brink of the stars and I look out at the emptiness below,
with Clint on my right and Johnny on my left you better be the best if you're looking for a fight.
I got my eyes on the rainbow but I don't see any lucky charms
I see the prizmic capabilities of life under the stars
and if you want to take my hand and dance the night away
we'll see who burns their candles brighter. the stars or me and you
so stay where you are and pout away or jump on the boat for a journey
I'll bring the chocolate milk and you bring a love story
I look in your eyes and the world is sweet and ripe for the picking
So lets take a walk in the midnight air
and wait for the sweet kiss of the morning
I'll bring you a parasol you bring me some roses
we'll sip the champagne of existence
and laugh at the ignorant proletariat
woe is the man
who doesn't hear us
for our voices are such sweet music
pleasure and pain
will mix again
as we walk and talk in midnight's garden

Teeth
I wear plastic vampire fangs
Fangs, wangs, fangs
My teeth are a pure white
Mandible
Brandable
"Open wide" and Noah's Ark on the ceiling
All my darling daughters have teeth
Keratin and chin bones
The teeth bones are connected
to
the face bones
Hypoplasia makes teeth yellow
Wisdom teeth
Peg laterals
My dentist owns four drills
He loves my teeth and hates my face
Mormon teeth in Salt Lake City
Utah backwards is "hate you"
And bruised and worn and tired
But with teeth.

Comments On Teeth
All I can say is: "My tears, they fell like rain." Upon reading the masterpiece that is "Teeth" I immediately pondered the meaning of such lines as "Utah backwards is 'hate you,'" "The teeth bones are connected to the face bones," and to my amazement, discovered that they were true. Mr. Wood's short stanzas and repetition of the word 'teeth' drive his ideas straight home. What those ideas exactly are, I am incapable, and unworthy, of fathoming. What a work of wonder, Mr. Wood!

Lit on fire
Lit on fire
In a blaze of cedar and matches
You smoldered in your own creation
The flesh of your masks charred away
Leaving you bare
You made color to astound us all
Painted your limbs in streaks of ochre
And aquamarine
Carved runes in scarlet tracery
Over the delicacy of your breast.
And yet and all
We never lost you under the wings
Of forest birds that flew
From the ends of your hair
You never hid beneath
The celebration rioting over your skin
You moved in ? decorated ?
Owned that soaring temple.
You dangled crystals from the doorways
And hung your paintings
Over your bed.
