6.  Introduce Speaker(s): Make a speech based upon the                                                               Toastmaters Manual.

We develop our speaking skills step by step as followings:

(#1: Ice breaker) First speach

The purpose of this speech is for a new member to "break the ice" - to introduce himself/herself to the Club and begin speaking before an audience. The speech should have a clear beginning, body, and ending. The speaker is advised to use notes if necessary and to forget body language. Point the speaker toward methods of improvement, but don’t "pour it on." Strive to have the speaker look forward to his/her next speech. Above all, be encouraging. Your evaluation should help the speaker feel glad about joining Toastmasters and presenting this speech.

(#2:Speak with Sincerity)

For this speech, the speakers objectives are to convince the audience of his earnestness, sincerity, and conviction of a subject the speaker thoroughly understands, and to confront or control any nervousness. The speaker may use notes if necessary.

Control nervousness? Audience's needs & interests? Eye contact? Improve since previous speech? Convey earnestness & convictions?

(#3: Organize Your Speech)

The objectives are to organize a talk that includes a beginning, a body, and a conclusion and that leads the audience to a clearly defined goal. The speaker is also to practice the skills learned in the previous two projects. These skills include speaking with conviction and sincerity and controlling nervousness.

Opening (Attention-getting, led into topic)? Body (Purposeful, clear)? Conclusion (Effective, climactic)?

(#4: Show What You Mean)

To use body movement. Gestures, facial expressions, and eye contact that illustrate and enhance the verbal message. Focus on delivery, although content should not be overlooked. Movement, gestures, facial expressions, and eye contact should be smooth and natural.

Facial Expression? Organization? Gestures? Manner? Preparation? Topic Selection?

(#5: Vocal Verity)

To use voice volume, pitch, rate, and quality to enhance the speech and to achieve a pleasing, natural voice quality.

Voice volume? Speaking rate? Vocal pitch? Voice tone? Vocal vitality? Body language???

(#6:Work With Words)

The objectives are to use the words that effectively communicate his or her message to the audience. The speaker's words should be clear and descriptive and short; the speaker should not use confusing sentences. Use active voice and rhetorical devices when appropriate, and avoid jargon and unnecessary words. Use vocal variety and body language. Your comments only for those items where special praise is warranted, or where you can offer specific suggestions for improvement.

Appropriate topic? Use vivid words? Avoid misinterpreted words? Use words that were simple, short, & familiar? Vocal variety?

(#7: Apply Your Skills)

To review and apply the skills developed in the first six manual speeches. These include controlling nervousness, speaking with conviction and sincerity, organizing the talk, using body language, employing vocal variety, selecting the right words for communicating the mssage, and thoroughly researching the topic.

Speech value (Interesting, meaningful)?? Opening?? Body of speech?? Vocal variety??

(#8: Add Impact to Your Speech)

the speaker’s objectives are to present a speech that uses one or more props to add impact to the message. The pros select should be appropriate for the message and audience and be displayed correctly with ease and confidence. The speaker is also to use all of the skills learned in previous projects.

(#9: Persuade with Power)

The speaker’s objectives are to present a persuasive speech that combines logical support for her viewpoint with a strong emotional appeal. The speech should focus on the self-interest of the audience. The speaker has also been asked to avoid using notes, if possible.

(#10: Inspire Your audience)

To express the mood and feelings of the audience in an inspirational talk. The speech should appeal to noble motives and challenge the audience to achieve a higher level of beliefs or achievement.
