Break out of frames
The click of pool balls can be heard with this howl. Your Break.
The Rustic Tavern:
A Tale of Misspent Youth
As his mother saw it
a den of iniquity,
but
Heaven for a boy who,
on a rainy afternoon,
in the backroom with four snooker
tables and farmers all around,
Saw Johnny Vargas take
a pool-shark drifter for
$100, a princely sum .
Johnny knew Minnesota Fats,
had a pool table in his
living room, and spent his
winters...
well,
the boy didn't know
where Johnny spent his winters,
but
he could guess.
That night his dreams moved
with a life of adventure in
a place with no farms
to work,
with green felt lawns,
and the heady smell
of beer and cigars.
