What causes a howl of pain? Does a son know his father? Can a father know a son he's never met?

His Father's Eyes

He wonders, does he have
his father's eyes?

How can he know this
or many other things?

His children, he saw born
and they saw him,
but no father attended
his entrance to this world.

So, does he have the
eyes,
chin,
nose,
heart,
spirit,
of this unseen, unknown,
unspoken-of man?

Does he have his father's eyes?
Is he his father's son?
his father's sun?
his father's sin?
