SYMPOSIA
UJP-UP holds various symposia on current issues. Last year, the organization sponsored "Gagging the Press," a symposium on the growing number of journalists murdered, one of the most contemporary issues in the country.
In 2005, the union organized a symposium on the foreign ownership of the Philippine media. It was part of UJP-UP's week-long 17th anniversary celebration.
Also, the Union co-sponsored an alternative classroom learning experience (ACLE) with Bayan Muna. This was entitled "Understanding the Oakwood Mutiny." It was awarded the KaMalayan Best ACLE by the University Student Council.
BASIC MASSES EXPOSURE (BMEx)
Through the years, UJP-UP has engaged in several exposure trips to different areas in Metro Manila to awaken its members to the various realities of life. Recent destinations included Laguna, Payatas, the State of the Nation Address (SONA) and the I-Witness Docmentary Festival "Bata, Bagets, Babae!"
EDUCATIONAL DISCUSSIONS (ED's)
We at UJP-UP believe in the importance of taking a stand on pertinent issues inside and outside the university. We push for informed choices. Our ED's provide a venue wherein members can formulate their own views, no pressures involved.
KARTUNISTANG PINOY, KARTUNISTANG MULAT;
LITRATISTANG PINOY, LITRATISTANG MULAT
A yearly editorial cartoon drawing/photojournalism contest held within the UJP-UP Week. It aims to promote awareness and enlightenment among students through the editorial cartoon or through photojournalism. Both media can provide a more entertaining or a more visual social commentary.
JOURNALISM SUMMIT
Journalism Summit is a seminar in campus journalism, where students from different schools are lectured about five types of journalistic work: copyediting, news writing, feature writing, opinion writing and sports writing. Participating schools send selected students to the specific categories they want them lectured on.
In 2005, the Union of Journalists of the Philippines-UP Diliman co-organized the event with the Pasay Perlas Jaycees and the Pasay Mulawin Junior Jaycees. Accordingly, participants for this year were high school students from various secondary schools in Pasay.
TAMBULI

TINTA

INTER-ORG ACTIVITIES
UJP-UP has been participating in consolidation activities with other organizations that share its advocacies.
