| Thresholds was an exhibition and installation work presented at the Belltable Arts Centre, opened by John Hunt. The work included watercolours, photos and drawings plus ceramic and wooden fountains with mirrors. These represented the multifaceted culture that had existed before the war, relatively harmoniously in Bosnia Hercegovina. The sounds of water flowing called to mind the Neretva River. The sound also recalled people murmuring in The National Library in Sarajevo, before it was destroyed in the war with an estimated 1.5 million texts. The photos and watercolours made after the destruction had taken place brought to mind the absence of books and people giving a sense of poignancy to the symbolic flowing water. | |||||||||
