| I wish to pursue an idea about the need for the focus of scholarship in the lives of young people as the way for them to reach beyond confines of disadvantage and lack of social skills. This is aimed at situations in which those seen as privileged and those at social disadvantage, exist in close proximity with little beneficial contact between either community. I have been trying to create a work at the campus the nearby university, by seeking to include in the planned artwork, the physical manifestations of elements of the siege that I have witnessed in nearby Southill. The work intends an exploration of exclusion to occur and for challenges to appear. Sieges is the title and the plan is to look at the aspects of siege that exists in either community, by representing elements of one siege in the location of one or both communities intending for an opening of dialogues. | |||||||||
