Rules of the Battlefield

1. Choose your battles carefully
2. Precision and speed are key
3. Focus on your objective

Above are the three primary rules
whilst on the field of battle. While
they may seem basic and even simple, there are more in-depth details, which can slip past your eye. Examine these details, memorize them, and apply them on the battlefield for these are the keys to victory.

While the military’s purpose is to handle the enemies of Umbrella, to attempt to eliminate all sources of a threat would be impossible. Choosing your battles carefully will determine life or death situations. For example, in a hypothetical situation, if you were to run into two opposing targets, openly firing at them and eliminating the clear threat will draw the attention of outsiders. Basically, while the open threat is now gone, the outside threat may close in around you.

(Be realistic with your battles. For example, a single handgun bullet won’t kill a Licker. Be wary of the mission's terms for breaking them is frowned upon. Try to give the specified target a chance to react. Should you fail, the result may determine a more aggressive attack [on behalf of your opponent]. Note that your characters are vulnerable to death in Simulations.)

While the company expects top-notch work on the field, there are situations, which require patience and caution. Precision and speed can be handled in very different ways. In another hypothetical situation, let us say that you had to disarm a bomb. While the direct route may be the quickest, it is also the most well guarded. Either a stealth approach the direct way may be taken, which is time consuming within itself, or an alternate route altogether could be found. That is an example of Precision and speed.

(While in a Simulation, TAKE YOUR TIME when typing. Make sure everything makes sense – Remember that it’s turn-based. Do not, however, spend too long fixing up an action. Delayed actions may result in the skipping of your turn. Know that the simulations do not require the most descriptive actions every turn.)

While on a mission, a person may get sidetracked. Whether the objective is to rescue a lost comerade or plant a bomb, a soldier must always remember his duties and the responsibilities that come with it. Being as this rule plays a huge role in rule number two, it’s just as important.
