Chapter 1: Ginga Saikyou Butou-kai Kaimaku
The Beginning of the Galactic Strongest Battle Competition (Bu/mu=of battle,
tou=fight.)
We open with Ultraman's defeat by Zetton many years
ago...
Fast forward to several years later. Seven is
busy training when the Ultra Warriors are called to the Command Centre. Zoffy,
captain of the Space Garrison, announces that the GSBC is 5 days away and will
be held on the mother planet C-93. Monsters, aliens and even humans will be
competing -- Zoffy is going to be referee. Taro wonders if Ultraman will be able
to make it, and Zoffy confirms he will. Even though he is training elsewhere,
an Ultra Sign has been sent out. Indeed, Ultraman sees the sign, and vows he
will not be defeated by Zetton a second time...
The day dawns amidst fireworks. Announcer Banjou, introduces himself and Prof.
Vulcus Notani. Zoffy talks to Ultra Father for a bit before he leaves to do his job.
Ultra Father reminisces about his youth...back then he trained towards the goal
of Super Fighter. Ultra Mother doesn't know what that is, so he tells her. He
never made it, so he considers it as just another legend...
The contestants are introduced, including a mysterious
masked alien. Zoffy takes the stage, so to speak, and draws their attention
towards a large computer screen. This computer will determine the contestants'
opponents, and the first pair it spits out is...Ultraman and Red King! All well
and good, but Ultraman hasn't shown up yet. The crowd begins to get ugly,
throwing things and 'boo'ing, and Red King and Zetton taunt as well.
Ace looks just about ready to turn Zetton into chop suey
when Ultraman appears, makes Ace step down, stills Zetton with one VERY nasty
look, takes to the battle court, apologizes for being late, and eventually
defeats Red King with his new weapon, the Specium Attack; a series of
super-fast punches. The defeat is so quick Prof. Notani can't describe it for
the viewers and even Ultra Father begins to wonder. Meanwhile, Zetton talks
with the mysterious masked fighter, who puts himself to work changing the
computer's programming. His goal is apparently to destroy Ultraman...
Chapter 2: Nazo no Fukumen Kakutousha
The Mysterious Masked Fighter
By this point, Ace has his suspicions that
the computer is on the blink. Zoffy dismisses this, as the computer is quite hi-tech and
almost impossible to tamper with. Still, one really
has to doubt when the computer pairs Jack with MAT...
Ultraman fights Gomora and goes to take a break in the
'control room'. Seven congratulates him on his victories, but Ultraman seems
indifferent. Ace isn't the only suspicious one! Ultraman Jack has also been
warned by his buddy Mystera Seijin about a rumour that an
evil alien is participating in the competition. Ultraman warns them all to be
careful if there are enemies about. Just then, Taro rushes in and announces
that the Tenpera Seijin has been defeated!
Tenpera Seijin has been roasted to a crisp--Ultraman
quietly notes that this is Zetton's energy reflection technique, the one he had
been
defeated with before. Since the
other winners from the last round are both injured, both the masked fighter and
Ultraman go on to the next stage without competing. A fierce fight ensues,
during which the masked fighter manages to injure Ultraman pretty badly. He
knows the Ultra is saving his strength to fight Zetton, and casts a pyramid of raw
energy at the court from above! Ultraman sees no other alternative, and he
changes his Specium Beam into the Specium Attack, a punch-beam combo to
disintegrate the pyramid and blast his opponent. Suprisingly, it doesn't faze
the masked fighter at all, who suddenly forfeits the fight. He has
achieved his target so far--to show Zetton what Ultraman is really made of.
Ultraman has lost his advantage! Even though Ultraman wins the fight, he
collapses from both fatigue and injury and is carried off the court. Ace and
Seven make plans to wear Zetton down to buy Ultraman some time.
Back in the control room, Ultraman is resting and
slightly lamenting the fact there's no chance he'll beat Zetton now. It is then he
receives some visitors--the Science Patrol! The scientists on Earth have
designed a suit of armour for him, something like a thank you gift for saving
their butts all this time. Ultraman puts on the armour, confidence restored!...
Chapter 3: Yuushousha Kettei?!
Winner Decision?!
Ace is getting creamed by Zetton. His Star Beam (star-shaped
light shuriken or throwing stars) is reflected back at him, and he is
blown off the court. He's almost about to lose his cool, when Seven yells at
him from the sidelines that they just have to keep Zetton busy as long as
possible. Banjou announces that Jack forfeited the fight to save Ace's energy,
and Seven was also defeated by Zetton earlier. Suddenly, a beep catches his
ear--Ace's Colour Timer is blinking! The masked fighter advises Zetton from the
sidelines to hurry up and finish the job before Ultraman regains his energy.
Zetton complies, but his mighty fist meets steel--the steel of Ultraman's chest
plate, or Metal Breast! At this time, Ultraman also gains a new moniker, due to
his efforts--he is Fighter Ultraman! (Faitaa Urutoraman)
Everyone starts cheering, and Zetton is more than a little
put out. Ace has lost the fight, (having lost consciousness while standing up!)
but this is where Ultraman takes over. The battle commences--a fierce one
indeed! Now Ultraman knows well enough not to use beam attacks, and pummels
Zetton to a pulp with bare fists alone! Flying Zetton into the air, he uses one
of Ace's techniques to fling Zetton several metres into the court!
Zetton now begs for the masked fighter's help, and he
suggests that Zetton use the Hyper Capsule. It is dangerous, but if he doesn't
try, he will be...shamed. That's quite enough for the now hornless Zetton, who
breaks the energy capsule in his fist and...doesn't make it. The transformation
caused by the energy is unbalanced. In what appears to be dire agony, he swats
Zoffy out of the court and starts strangling Ultraman. None of the other
Ultrans can get him to stop, and Arashi prepares to use the Pencil Bomb, the bomb
they originally used to defeat Zetton long ago. Zetton dares them to shoot, and
Ultraman calls out a warning, but too late. The bomb releases the rest of the
Hyper Energy, completing the transformation...
Chapter 4: Kyoufu no Haipaa Zetton
Hyper Zetton of Terror
Hyper Zetton touches down, energy radiating from his
body, and approaches Ultraman as Zoffy gets up from a pile of broken wall.
Neither the Ultras' combined attacks nor Zoffy's M87 Beam have any effect
on Zetton, who proceeds to fire a gigantic 1 BILLION degree Hyper Meteo
Fireball at Zoffy, sending him flying.
By now the Earth teams are considering the use of an R1
bomb, powerful enough to destroy a whole planet, but it might STRENGTHEN
Zetton instead! Ultraman agrees, and sees no choice but to wear Zetton
down while the Earth teams evacuate the area. The Science Patrol protests,
reminding him of his injuries, but he smiles and says that it's just another
challenge--one from which he cannot back down! Off he goes to confront Zetton!
It's a fierce fight, and Ultraman barely holds his own. Prof.
Notani, who has been quiet all this while, says they must all pray that
Ultraman succeeds. He reveals that he is dressed in
an Ultra-patterned traditional costume under his labcoat, and his cheers start
everybody else off! Ultraman refuses to give in, but gets smashed into the wall as Zetton charges up another Hyper
Meteo Fireball. Spotting the frantic Pigmon and his helium balloon, Ultraman
has an idea and gathering all his energy into a single fist, he charges forward.
Passing straight through the fireball unharmed,
he then slams his fist straight through Zetton's tough shell, releasing the
Hyper Energy!
When the glow dies down, Ultraman withdraws and falls to his
knees, drained; seconds later, Hyper Zetton explodes and reverts into plain
Zetton. He swears revenge, but as Ultraman grins at him and flashes a
thumbs-up, he falls flat on his face. The crowd erupts with joy and confetti flies. Even
Ultra Father gives Fighter Ultraman the appropriate accolade! The masked
fighter teleports away, knowing he has a back-up plan...
UltraSeven shares in the joy of Ultraman's victory, proud to
have such a friend. He remembers he needs to put away some stretchers and runs
off, but is confronted by an alien assassin and shot straight through the
heart...
Chapter 5: Sebun Fukkatsu Shirei
Seven Resurrection Directive
The Ultrans hear the shot and rush towards the
source, only to find Seven encased in a crystal cross!
In the meantime, the mysterious assassin meets up with the masked fighter and tells him
that his mission is complete. When asked who he killed, he replies it was
UltraSeven, Ultraman's best friend. The masked fighter approves--he wanted to get Ultraman away from
M78, but this is better than expected.
On the Ultra Star, at Space Garrison HQ, the Ultra Garrison have
found the cross is an 'energy-sealing coffin'. Taro suspects the masked fighter, and Zoffy backs him up, entering
the room with data on 4 other contestants. Ace remembers that all four came to
a draw, enabling the masked fighter to battle Ultraman. Jack goes on to deduce
that one of them must have been the killer! The prime suspect? Guts Seijin,
assassin
by profession. Furious, Leo vows revenge for his mentor and
charges off. Zoffy orders Astra to follow and make sure he doesn't
get into trouble. Ultraman asks Zoffy
if there is any way to revive Seven. After slight hesitation, Zoffy informs him of the Dimode
Crystal, the most valuable stone on King Planet. It is also said to give
'Hyper' Energy to an UltraWarrior. It might break the coffin's energy seals!
Zoffy gives Ultraman directions, and off he goes with the Science Patrol.
However, once in the planet's atmosphere, a strange magnetic force pulls
everyone down into the desert. Ultraman and the
Patrol are separated, and as Ide tries to fix the badly damaged VTOL, the humans
are confronted by a mysterious, beautiful lady. When she find out they are not
fighters, she orders them to leave the Planet of Trials...or die.
Ultraman regains consciousness elsewhere just before an
insect-like monster bursts out from under him. His Specium Beam is deflected by
its exoskeleton! Its sharp jaws even break rock! None of his punches have no
effect on it!...
The masked fighter now reveals himself to be Demon Mefilas (Mefirasu
Daimaou), and prepares his four strongest fighters for attack in place of
an army...
Chapter 6: Shiren No Sei Kingu Sei
Planet of Trials, King Planet
In the mysterious beauty's castle, Capt. Mura speculates
the monsters are the reason King Planet is also called the Planet of Trials. She states it is all caused by their
god, who is also able to grant a fighter's request. Arashi speculates he may
have the Dimode Crystal! Their reverie is interrupted by a huge crash. It's
Ultraman, and he's battling the monster Antlar! The Patrol open fire in support, but their lasers
just bounce off! The beauty informs them that Antlar's shell is bulletproof. She can also sense Ultraman is failing
fast.
As Antlar grabs Ultraman round the middle and attempts to pull him
down, he
has a flashback of his younger self and UltraSeven. He must try to save his best
friend, no matter the cost! Hope restored, Ultraman frees himself and continues
the fight, searching for a weak spot in the monster's armour! Antlar, however, immobilises Ultraman
with a magnetic field and goes in for the kill!
Just then, the beauty reappears with a blue sphere. Asking
it for strength for the fighter, she throws it into the air, and the stone
streaks towards Antlar, blowing a hole in its shell. Ultraman frees
himself from the magnetic field and slams a Specium Attack into the weak spot,
sending Antlar fleeing! Mura thanks the mysterious beauty, who says this blue stone, the
gift of the god, would only help a true fighter who never loses hope. Ultraman
also thanks her and promises he will train to not rely on
beam weapons. Ide spots a light in the sky, the 'sign of the god', and the good
guys set off once more.
Meanwhile on the Ultra Star, the Space Garrison computers are
on the blink. Nobody knows why until the culprit shows himself on every screen--It's
Mefilas Seijin, or rather, Demon Mefilas. Taro recognizes him as the masked
fighter. Demon Mefilas intends to bring darkness back to the universe, but
first, the Star of Ultra must be destroyed! Four meteorites crash down and
crack open, revealing four aliens, Mefilas' Steel 4 Heavenly Kings...
Several monster encounters later, Ultraman and gang notice the sign of the god has
disappeared, until they realise the sign is
actually shining up from the ground under their feet. They stand in
front of a great gate, and the legendary god steps forth...
Chapter 7: Koumashitennou Arawaru
The 4 Steel Evil Heavenly Kings Arrive
*NB--Ma=evil, Shi=4, ten=heaven, ou=king. 'Shitennou' are usually an army
leader's most able generals, and are sometimes also known as the '4 Devas'.
Ultraman recognizes the shadow as the legendary god of
Ultras, Ultraman King! Ide expresses doubt, but Ultraman firmly insists there has only been one true warrior on the Star of Ultra, and that is
King. King grins and dismisses this, saying that's all old news...200 000 years old. Ide mutters that King must be an old geezer on the Land of
Light. Big mistake! King heard him, and replies for that wisecrack, he's not
handing over the Dimode Crystal. Ide panics and kow-tows in apology, but King bursts out laughing
at his joke and hands it over. There's still a problem, though--the crystal doesn't contain enough energy to revive Seven.
Ultraman closes his hand
tight around it ("Seven...forgive me!") and yells in frustration.
Suddenly, the crystal begins to glow in his fist, and when King suggests
Ultraman open his fist, the crystal now shines several times brighter! King
explains that the crystal's true power can only be released under high pressure
now beyond his own abilities. After
countless trials, Ultraman has powered up without even knowing it, almost to the level
of Super Fighter! Ultraman thanks everybody for their help, and they report
back to the Ultra Star...to find
they are under attack!!
Baltan Seijin fires missiles.
Kemur-jin crushes buildings. Zarab Seijin and Dada Seijin make short work of the
defence as the UltraWarriors watch in despair. Zoffy leaps
into action and he, Jack, Ace and Taro set out to engage the Kings. Ultra
Father warns him to be careful. The human teams follow up. The Kings,
however, sense the approach of the Ultras and Baltan shoots some metal balls from
his claw holster, creating scores of Psy-Baltans to clear the battlefield. As soon as the Ultras arrive, Baltan sics his minions on them before
flying off. He reveals the Psy-Baltans only have 10% of his power, which
REALLY worries the Ultrans since they're pretty strong already! Zoffy fights off a few
and tells the rest to chase the Kings. Jack is worried that Zoffy can't handle
them all, but Zoffy shuts him up and tells them he'll cope. Rather reluctantly,
they fly off (Taro with tears in his eyes) and the Psy-Baltans concentrate their attack
on Zoffy...
Meanwhile, a mysterious cloaked figure appears to the 4 very bored
Kings. It is a grim-faced...UltraWarrior.
Chapter 8: Urutora Senshi Shuuketsu
Ultra Warrior Assembly
The mysterious Ultra is just about to face the 4 Heavenly
Kings when the Ultra Brothers fly in. Ace recognizes the stranger as Great, who
decided to travel the universe instead of joining the Garrison. He STILL refuses
to join them or their fight--this stage is his own! He challenges the Kings to
a 1-on-1 battle with many a taunt, and it is Baltan who accepts. Ace cheers Great on, but is
yelled at to shut up and see what true warrior spirit is. The battle is on!
Now Ultraman knows the masked fighter is Demon Mefilas, he decides to use teleportation to return quickly. It will use up a lot of energy,
but he has no choice. King stops him, saying that he will not
have enough energy left to fight Mefilas. His flight speed has increased enough to get him there just as fast. Ultraman says goodbye to all
and takes off. Ide asks King for help with the smashed VTOL, but there's a
small problem--King is at a loss with machines!
Meanwhile, a sudden blast from the sky knocks back the
Psy-Baltans attacking Zoffy--it's Ultraman 80, who swoops in to help and reports
the students and teachers of the Ultra School have been evacuated and are safe.
Zoffy thanks 80 for his help, but he's not the only one here; Ultraman Joe and
six other Ultra Star U40ans catch MAT Captain Kato's falling plane!
Despite his skills, Great is getting squashed! Ace can't
stand it any longer. He HAS to help! Great, however, stops him. The Baltan
labels Great as too conceited and fires a hail of flames from his claw, sending
Great flying. He then charges up his ultimate weapon, Baltan Mixed Fire, and
lets fly!
Having got just what he was waiting for, Great leaps to his feet, absorbs the
attack and fires it right back with the Magnum Shoot. Baltan is defeated, but Great
falls. Ace props his head up, berating him for his kamikaze mission. Great
confirms it, and tells him he had to do it to stop the Psy-Baltans.
"Now it's your turn," he says and closes his eyes. Ace remarks he
really did have fighting spirit...
Suddenly, Demon Mefilas' spaceship appears. The Heavenly
Kings shake like leaves as he scolds them roundly for not doing their job. He
gives them one last chance--destroy the Ultrans in 10 minutes, or face the
consequences!...
Chapter 9: Urutoraman no Kikan
The Return of Ultraman
As the now 3 Heavenly Kings attack Taro, Ace and Jack,
the Psy-Baltans self-destruct. 80 says that the Baltan must have been
destroyed, and he and Zoffy set off to find the others. Joe leaves the injured
to his team and follows. Zoffy and 80 save
the others from the Kings' attacks, and are updated on the situation. Kemur-jin
slams his fist into the ground, creating a shockwave that sends them all
flying. Great is about to fall into a crevice when Joe appears, saves him and
launches a combined attack on Kemur. Various beams bombard Kemur...to no
effect.
Meanwhile, a high-speed UFO approaches the Ultra Star! It proceeds
to smash through three or four stories of the Space Garrison HQ before landing,
scaring the crap out of Ultra Father. It's Ultraman! He hands over the Dimode
Crystal and sets out to fight the Heavenly Kings. Ultra Mother stops him for a
moment, intending to replenish his energy with her own. Amazingly, she finds it
unnecessary, as he is STILL at full power despite having flown to King Planet
and back!
As Kemur tries to crush 80 in his metal hands, Dada uses the
Dance of Masks to create duplicates of himself that leap at the Ultras. Somehow Taro gets
separated from the group, and is attacked by Zarab. Jack hears Taro's cry of
distress and runs Zarab through with the Ultra Lance, but is wounded in the neck
himself. He
advises Taro not to rely on the strength of others, for even Ultraman was not
strong from the beginning. He believes he has a strength within to outdo
Ultraman and even Zoffy. Having said this to encourage Taro, he
collapses.
The others hear Taro's cry of dismay, and Kemur decides to
finish them all off at once with his Ultra High Pressure Power Glide. A
furious Taro takes the shot straight on and slams Kemur in
the gut! Unfortunately, the move finishes up with his head in Kemur's large
hand. Just then, ULTRAMAN lands behind them!
Mefilas is shocked, as he never believed Ultraman could return so quickly.
Ultraman saves Taro, sends Kemur flying straight into Mefilas' ship and challenges
the alien to battle...
Chapter 10: Shukumei no Taiketsu!!
Fateful Showdown!!
Ultraman prepares to fight Mefilas, but has to get
through Dada first, who wanted a second chance. He is the strongest Heavenly
King, the only one who didn't enter the Galactic Strongest Battle Competition;
Ultraman defeats him anyway and Mefilas stomps his head in, musing he used Dada to find out Ultraman's true
abilities. Ultraman doesn't look too happy with that...
Meanwhile in a bar on Planet S40, the two Guts Brothers plan
on how to get more rewards from Mefilas. Big brother brandishes the gun he used
on Seven, but somebody grips the barrel from behind. Both Guts Seijin shriek in horror
when they see Leo and Astra, and Leo proceeds to deal out some quality
punishment...
Ultraman and Mefilas are evenly
matched, beam to beam, punch to punch, but Mefilas can read Ultraman's
thoughts! Indeed, Ultraman's a bit worried, as his energy is at its peak, and
if Mefilas has any more tricks up his sleeve he's TOAST! Mefilas reveals he has
only been using 60% of his power all this while, and conjuring up two sparks of
Hyper Energy in his hands, he transforms into Hyper Mefilas, breaking his
armour! Poor Ultraman is being pounded...
Ultra Mother, Ultra Father and the Ultra Garrison are watching in
despair from Space Garrison HQ. Capt. Kiriyama is trembling like a leaf, and
Ultra Father admits even he is no match for Mefilas...there is but one more
warrior, still frozen in that crystal cross! At that very moment, the Ultra
Garrison has fit the Dimode Crystal into a machine which is firing a beam at Seven's
Beam Lamp...
Ace is not going to sit back and let Ultraman get killed. He
persuades 80, Jonias and Zoffy to combine their energy with his to attack
Mefilas, using the Space Charge tactic. They do so, but the technique drains
them completely. Ace takes aim, and
prepares to launch his ultimate attack, the Space Q! As he is about to fire,
however, there is a BANG! Ace's
crest is been shot off...
Chapter 11: Saishuu no Taiketsu (Rasuto Battoru)
Final Showdown (Last Battle)
Still being pounded on, Ultraman asks Mefilas why he's using
his strength for evil. Apparently most Mefilasians are intelligent, civilized
and peace-loving. This black sheep found that too boring, so he destroyed his planet for kicks. Furious,
Ultraman breaks free and vows to battle Mefilas to the last. Mefilas prepares
to fire a Ultra Evil Beam at him when something knocks his hand aside! It's the Eye
Slugger and it's Fighter UltraSeven, resurrected and
armoured!
Seven approaches
Zoffy and asks him to donate his energy to him--as it turns out, the Dimode
Crystal did not fully revive him, and he needs more energy for another attack.
Zoffy doubts his energy alone will suffice, but Taro, Jack and Great appear,
too willing to help despite their injuries. They join forces, and Seven fires
the Charge Slugger at Mefilas! The alien cannot dodge Seven's telekinetic
control, so he grabs Taro as a shield. Seven just manages to stop the Slugger,
but is stomped on by Mefilas as he swoops down to retrieve it.
All seems lost, but Ultraman is still standing. Seven fires a
shot of Emellium Beam, knocking the nearby Slugger into the air. Mefilas
realises Seven used the last of his energy to charge it! Ultraman catches it and dives as Mefilas tries to ward him off with shots of energy. His
armour bears the brunt of this and Ultraman slashes Mefilas across the chest! After
a short silence, the ground cracks between Mefilas and Ultraman and there is a
mighty explosion which hurls the alien skyward!
As all gather and Ultra Father thanks them for their
efforts, Leo and Astra arrive with the captured Guts Brothers. Seven looks about
to deliver the final blow, but he aims his Emellium Beam into the ground
instead. Death is hated, after all...and he is sure he is not alone in thinking
so. The grateful Gutsians burst into tears all over him. Ultraman's very proud
to have a friend like Seven, and says so aloud. Seven just rubs his nose and
mutters "Heh, that's my line, idiot!"
A couple of months later, Ultra Father has a statue erected
in the city centre; 2 Ultrans supporting each other, a memorial to the courage
of the Ultra Star's warriors. End first story arc. ^_^
Chapter 12: Dai-Nikai Ginga Saikyou Butou-kai Kaimaku
The Beginning of the 2nd. Galactic Strongest Battle Competition (Bu/mu=of
battle, tou=fight.)
A year has passed since the last chapter and the
2nd. GSBC is being held on Q-49. The number of contestants have doubled to 150, and
Ultraman isn't late this time. A little surprisingly, no choujuu or
Terrible Monsters are around except Bakishim, who somehow escaped the Yapool's
evil influence way back. Prof. Walter, a new announcer, turns out to be
Notani in disguise. Zoffy's referee again, but there's a new sponsor, Yando,
here with his two right hand men, a woman called Q and Anchira Seijin. Yando gives his speech, and the
competition begins in earnest. Notani makes a bet that if Ultraman doesn't
become champion he'll shave his head and become a monk...
Yullian is trying to snuggle up to 80 (much to his
embarrassment), and is caught by Great, who 'pretends' that this 'little
competition' is not worth his time. Yullian takes offense and he's about to
cream her for suggesting he didn't buy a ticket to get into the stadium when
ZAT, UGM and TAC cars zip in front of his feet. The more minor teams are not
strong enough to fight, but they hope their respective Ultras will win anyway.
ZAT's Kitajima motions to the back, where the Ultras are wielding really
corny-looking suitcases. They set them down, the cases open by themselves and in a flash of light, the Ultra Warriors armour up!!! WOO!
According to TAC Captain Gorou and MAT Captain Katou, the UltraWarriors spent the
last year training on King Planet and now, ALL of them have gained the name of
'Fighter'. The Ultrans are not alone--the monster gang has new armour too. The seijins are bickering over
who's the best as the first pair to fight is announced and Leo proceeds to kick
Magma Seijin's behind just a little bit TOO hard...
The Ultrans and monsters breeze through the fights until a mysterious masked fighter takes the stage. Tenpera Seijin is up against
him, and mocks him mercilessly. The masked fighter doffs his cloak to
reveal...DEMON MEFILAS! Mefilas goes on to cream Tenpera Seijin, and sparks
fly between his line of sight and Ultraman's.
Notani tries unsuccessfully to take back his bet as Yando notes that among them all, there is a Super Fighter...
Chapter 13: Fukkatsu! Mefirasu Daimaou
Resurrected! Demon Mefilas
Ultraman 80 notes that most of the UltraWarriors
are taking part in the comp. this year, and Ultraman agrees, adding that Ultra
Father gave them a lot of encouragement and confidence. Speaking of which,
where is he? Even Ultra Mother can't find him, though he specifically said he'd
be here. In the meantime, Leo and Ace chew out poor Astra for losing to the
mysterious Mr. Santa, who doesn't look all that powerful.
Zoffy steps up, and announces the computer-picked opponents
for the next round, including Red King vs. Ultraman, Eleking vs. Seven and the
like. One interesting pair is Taro vs. Mefilas. -- Taro has a grudge towards him
for last year, and Mefilas is not at all impressed by the youngster. Ace
encounters Ace Killer, and a bit of a tiff ensues. Ace reminds the rest of them
about the Yapool-jin he fought all those decades back. A strange monk,
Mazaron, also appears, as does the Science Patrol's VTOL G Robot.
The first fight is between Taro and Mefilas...despite the
fierce battle, with Taro knocking Mefilas all over the court, stupid Prof.
Notani maintains that it's really nothing much. The irritated Banjou starts
beating up on the oblivious Professor, and Taro gets creamed by a surprise
attack from Mefilas. However, Mefilas contemptuously casts him aside because "you are not my target!" The real target?
Naturally, still Ultraman...
Chapter 14: Kaisou Mazaron
Monster Monk Mazaron
All fights have been going on as planned. Among
others, Ultraman, 7 and Ace Killer have made it to the next round. Despite the various monster defeats, a
friendly air of competition prevails, although not between Ace and Ace
Killer--they end up squabbling again, with Ace writing 'ponkotsu' (junk)
upon A.K.'s head. Surprisingly, this friendly air is not pleasing to Yando, who reveals that 'the bomb has
been set', and there will soon be enough action for his liking...
The next fight is between Mazaron and VTOL G. It looks like
VTOL G will win the battle with its guided missiles, but when the Science Patrol
uses its most
powerful attack, the missiles suddenly turn back and the whole thing
explodes! Luckily, none of the humans are seriously hurt in the blast. Mura checks everything out and points out Ide pushed the gear
shaft to 'U-Turn' instead of 'Attack'. Ide howls, Mazaron smiles to himself,
and Ultraman looks a little suspicious. Mazaron's battle was the last of that
round, and he now suggests to Yando that an electric field be placed around the
court to up the ante a bit. Zoffy doesn't like that idea, and Mazaron pokes him
in the chest and accuses him of being a coward. He backs up his suggestion with
the so-called fact that the warriors have to put their best foot forward to
really earn the championship. Amazingly, Yando agrees! Only the UltraWarriors
are slightly opposed to the idea, but Ace 'makes sure' that doesn't seem so. ;)
50 billion watts go up around the court, and a suspicious Great asks 80 to
follow him to investigate.
The first fight in the quarter-finals is Mazaron vs.
Bakishim. Unfortunately, Mazaron is too strong for the monster fighter, and
even though he almost pushes Mazaron into the barrier, he seems to suddenly lose
his nerve when their eyes meet. He unleashes the
Tornado Attack, with which he defeated Leo, but...he hits the electrical
barrier instead and falls.
This carnage is exactly what Yando wants, and he laughs
loudly...
Chapter 15: Desu Matchi Kaishi
The Death Match Begins
The Ultrans protest against the electrical field
after Bakishim's horrendous defeat. Yando counters he put it up for safety
and
accuses them of bribery(?)
Seven, none too happy, withdraws on principles--a warrior should fight to
uphold justice, not for the sake of carnage! Ace seems to recognise Yando's
voice from somewhere, and is immediately 'detained'. Later, Seven apologizes to Ultraman, admitting he wants
to compare himself to his friend, who is stronger due to diverse training.
Ultraman says it's no big deal, and suggests a telepathic battle...
Ace and Ace Killer battle, and the Ultra's Metallium Beam is
countered with
an M87 Beam! The robot was originally armed with the beams of the first four Ultra
Brothers. Barely missing the electrical field, Ace uses a new technique, the
Metallium Burst! He slams a charged fist into the ground, the whole
court cracks in half from the energy and A.K. is sent flying towards the
electrical field! Ace jumps and pulls
him down, but hits the barrier himself and is out of the competition. The
distraught robot curses him, unsure of what to do with himself now Ace is
beaten.
A charred Ace suggests he finish the competition, and so does Jack. A.K. swears
to try his best.
Mefilas doesn't think much of Ace's actions, but Mr. Santa is of
the belief that winning isn't everything and Ace did it out of the good in his
heart. Mefilas tells him to shut up because they're fighting next...and he knows
Mr. Santa defeated Bemstar by unscrewing the chain that held his armour on. The
first thing Mefilas does is fire a beam which incinerates his costume. 'Mr.
Santa' jumps up and over, escaping the flames...
The telepathic battle is over--Seven lost, even though he
trained for ages. Hearing some commotion outside, the two are shocked to find that Mr. Santa is
actually ULTRA FATHER! Ultra Father reveals he made the decision to join when he saw the
other's bravery last year...and he knows Mefilas doesn't really want to kill
Ultraman! Mefilas is not too happy, and he charges, but is immediately beaten
back.
In the meantime, 80 and G are eavesdropping on Yando and are
confronted by Q. Great makes excuses by saying many strange things are going
on, and they are investigating them. For instance...where's Q's shadow?!
Chapter 16: Kettei! Besuto 4
Decision! Best 4
Q, the woman without a shadow, lunges at Great,
but is hit with a blast of Burning Plasma to the face. To their shock,
80 and Great find that her head is an empty shell! Great suspects he knows the woman's origins, but before he can finish,
80 takes a blast for him from a weapon of some sort. Looking up,
Great sees Anchira with a smoking gun, threatening to shoot again!
The fight between Mefilas and Ultra Father goes on in
earnest. They are both evenly matched and
Mefilas is beginning to waver. Leo seems confident who will win, but Seven and
Ultraman tell him it's not certain yet. It is possible Mefilas already knows
Ultra Father's weakness...and he has. His age has diminished his energy level
and when Ultra Father runs out of energy for
the Father Shot, Mefilas seizes him by the horns.
Lifting him off the ground, he whirls him round in the air before both surge
down to the ground. There is a gigantic explosion, and when the dust clears,
Ultra Father is buried about two feet deep in the court
As the electrical field dies, Taro and Ultra Mother rush to
the fallen Ultra who suddenly laughs and sits up, unscathed. He admits defeat
and that he hasn't had such a wild fight for centuries. Mefilas walks away, to
Ultra Father's surprise. He does not wish to further the victory. Cheers rise,
but not for Mefilas! All manners of bouquets and
presents rain down on Ultra Father as Taro helps him off the court. Prof. Notani isn't as
happy, though, as he fears he's going to lose his bet.
Zoffy then announces that Ace Killer will fight Mazaron
and Ultraman will fight Mefilas. Mazaron protests, stating that even if the three tag-teamed him they
couldn't defeat him. Ace, just out of treatment, protests vehemently, as do the spectators.
Mazaron glares at Ace Killer, but his mind control beam is deflected! The technique he used to defeat the VTOL G and Bakishim has
been discovered! Cornered, his eyes roll back in his head something funny, and
he begins to grow. Forming a ball of energy in his hands, he blasts Zoffy right
out of the court, straight into the 5 billion watt electric field!
Chapter 17: Mazaron Hyouhen
Mazaron's Sudden Transformation
A very charred Zoffy falls to the ground outside the
court as everyone looks on in horror. Jack runs off to find Yando and report
this, but when he busts into Yando's chambers, nothing's there!!!
Mazaron reveals his mission is to destroy the Super Fighter
with his own hands. Mefilas snorts, as he doesn't believe they exist. Whatever
the case, Mazaron says, he will destroy them all. If there is a Super Fighter,
good. If not, too bad. He immediately attacks Ace Killer, who just manages to
hold him back. Ultraman urges him to escape, but Killer is sure they can beat him
if they join forces. Mazaron
calls him an idiot and smashes both his arms. A junk robot like him has no
chance of becoming a Super Fighter...wouldn't his creator know? Mazaron
proceeds to crush him, but as Seven says, as long as A.K.'s head survives the
body can be rebuilt. The head is still intact, and it hisses at Mazaron,
"You're the Yapool!" before getting flicked towards the electric
field. Just in the nick of time, Ultraman catches him, getting singed
slightly. Leo tries to turn the field off, but he can't! It's being controlled
by some strange power!
Mazaron now turns on Mefilas, saying he must be the Super
Fighter as Ultraman is too young. Mefilas sees him as another obstacle in his
quest to battle Ultraman and prepares to kick some tail. Ultraman tries to get
him to stop, saying he has no chance, but Mefilas replies that Zoffy and Killer
are seriously injured. If this battle is not won and the field not taken down, their lives will be in danger!
Ultraman, however, forces him to stand down. He cannot bear to see Mefilas commit murder again,
and besides, now he's just as pumped as Mefilas! Mazaron stares pop-eyed at
Ultraman, doubting that he really is as strong as Mefilas, and though
Ultraman's not too sure either he gives a very convincing practical
demonstration, finishing off with his most powerful weapon, the Specium Ultra
Light Wave! The impact from the latter shoots
Mazaron into the electric field and *almost* breaks through. It looks like
Mazaron has been dispatched...or not. Mazaron survives the blast and now he knows who he's
really after...
Chapter 18: Haipaa Mazaron
Hyper Mazaron
Mazaron lands and summons his monk's hat, changing it first to
a metal ring and then armour! The difference is, his armour is to hold
back his immense energy. Banjou screams Mazaron's energy is like Hyper
Zetton's; might as well call him Hyper Mazaron! Ultraman asks him if HE is a
Super Fighter, but no...that would be an even greater force! Mazaron
slaughters Ultraman and prepares to start on Mefilas, but Ultraman recovers
quickly and re-engages him! There is little progress and even Seven admits it's hopeless. If Mazaron can
defeat Ultraman, what good would they be? It's only after all that hardship he could be
on par with Mefilas. Mefilas hears him and asks for an explanation. Seven found
out during his telepathic battle with Ultraman that it wasn't all training last
year--he helped rebuild Planet Mefilas!
Flashback to Ultraman planting crops, rebuilding stuff and
even acting as Math. teacher and babysitter ;) The only payment he asks is to
be shut up in a certain tower, which the Mefilas Elder is reluctant to do. It
used to be a prison filled with a strange energy which no one ever survived for
long--except Demon Mefilas! Ultraman explains he needs that energy to fight
Mefilas and perhaps if he sees only strength combined with a pure heart will
succeed, he'll reform. The elder wishes him luck and Ultraman shuts himself in
there for three months compared to Mefilas' two. Mefilas is stunned, even more
so when Taro, a hated enemy, approaches him and kow-tows, begging Mefilas to save Ultraman!
Despite the spectator's protests, Mazaron is brutally laying
into Ultraman. Desperate,
Prof. Notani pulls out an electric razor and shaves half his head, urging
Ultraman to stay alive. Win or lose, go bald, whatever! Banjou puts the
microphone to Notani's razor, transmitting the sound across the stadium. Mazaron feels jealous because Ultraman has so many fans,
and he tells him to say goodbye to them. He hurls Ultraman toward the electric
field but there is no zap or sizzle, as Mefilas has intercepted the flying
Ultra! "Don't get me wrong, I don't help idiots like
you," Mefilas is quick to caution. Still, the two join forces, and hit
Mazaron with a dual punch. The tag-team attack begins!
Chapter 19: Saikyou Taggu Kessei!
The Strongest Tag Team!
Ultraman and Mefilas have teamed up on Mazaron, but the
energy is affecting the electric field round the court. Kanegon blocks some
fleeing spectators and scolds them for not being loyal. He, for one,
knew something like this might happen, so he donned armour and plans to sit
here until Ultraman wins!
Mazaron feigns defeat and asks for mercy, but it's not enough
to convince Mefilas! As he strikes, a quake ensues and a bomb rises from the
arena. The timer is set to 5 minutes, and Mazaron explains he has
set an Ultra Space time bomb powerful enough to destroy half a planet! Hell
breaks loose and there's not enough time to
evacuate everyone. Ultra Father suspects the bomb was planted before the
competition, and he thinks he knows who Yando really is...
Mazaron claims the audience as hostages and offers to
disable the bomb on one condition: his opponents both surrender. He blasts
Mefilas with energy bombs and jumps on Ultraman. Ultraman sends a telepathic
message to Mefilas, asking for his Hyper Energy. He learnt how to control it on
Planet Mefilas, and if he combines it with his own he can use Ultra
Teleportation to transfer the court to another planet, saving the
spectators. They can fight freely! Mefilas agrees, Ultraman concentrates uses Ultra Teleportation! There is a blinding flash of light,
and when it dies down, the whole court is gone!
Mazaron find himself on a cold, uninhabited planet with an
exhausted, defenceless Ultraman! Mazaron kicks Mefilas aside and fires the
powerful Hyper Magma Laser at Ultraman, but Mefilas blocks the shot himself,
collapsing! The bomb is set to detonate in 10 seconds and Mazaron
bids them farewell, flying off. Ultraman urges Mefilas to
hang on and apologizes for causing him injury. The alien dismisses this; it's
just fate. Ultraman replies he appreciates a friend like Mefilas and will not
let him die! Just as they are within inches of each other, the bomb
explodes.
Mazaron watches the pretty fireworks from far away. He turns
to go, but something catches his eye and he shrieks when he sees light from the
destroyed planet! Nothing could survive that bomb! Except...maybe...the Super
Fighter...!
Chapter 20: Choutoushi Tanjou!!
The Super Fighter is Born!!
Ultraman opens his fist, and light streams from it,
illuminating the area. The legend is risen! Super Fighter Ultraman is born!
On Q-49, Ultra Mother heals Zoffy of his injuries. Suddenly,
all notice a strange energy and light in the sky. It can only mean one
thing--Ultraman is alive, and he is the Super Fighter! Seven, Leo,
Astra, Taro and Ace take off towards it. Elsewhere, Yando sits among his
soldiers, having picked up signs of a being with a force capacity of 68000. Even Mazaron only has a
capacity of 3000...
Furious at the damage caused, Ultraman engages Mazaron in
furious, one-sided battle. His large sense of compassion, his weakness, is no
more. As he is about to strike the final blow, however, his
Colour Timer starts blinking! Mazaron laughs, saying even though Ultraman
absorbed the bomb's energy, he now has only one minute left to live.
Ultraman doesn't mind; one minute is enough! Mefilas yells at Ultraman to stop or his life will be in
danger, but he's willing to take his chances. Mazaron launches his final
tactic: smashing his armour, he grows into giant form! Yando's men rejoice
as Mazaron's force capacity climbs to 70000. Mazaron swears to serve his master,
the Yapool, and slams his fist upon Ultraman, driving him into the ground.
Ultraman's barely holding up, but amazingly, his force capacity climbs to 95000, shocking even Yando! Using the Specium Attack,
he blows Mazaron off him and unleashes a Specium Ultra Light Wave. A surge of
energy several times bigger than himself rips Mazaron apart! Ultraman reverts
to his normal form just as the others see the blast...
Yando, or the Yapool thinks about the battle, Mazaron's
defeat and Ultraman's great force. He is pleased that he waited, for now he knows
a lot more...
Mefilas jumps off the bombed planet and approaches Ultraman,
congratulating him on his victory and reminding him it will be his turn soon.
Something, however, strikes him as unusual. The other Ultras arrive just as
Mefilas gives a roar of frustration. Ultraman has won the battle, but his eyes are dark and there's a big
hole in the middle of his Colour Timer...
Chapter 21: Yapuuru Gundan Soukougeki
Attack All Yapool Army
Mefilas mourns at Ultraman's grave, throwing his
championship plaque at the tombstone in anger. He still wants that fight...
Meanwhile, Ultraman's lost and confused spirit bumps into
Ultraman King, who has the power to
visit the astral plane. He delivers the cruel truth--the
power of the Super Fighter was too much for his wounded body. They can,
however, appeal to the Sun God (Taiyoushin). Just then, a
ball of flames appears, blazing with the Differator Beam
that transformed the Ultras into their present forms. It is the spirit of their
artificial sun, the Plasma Spark. King pleads a good case and asks the Spirit
to resurrect Ultraman. It agrees. His body will be restored and his soul may
re-enter it--after three years! Ultraman protests, saying they are under attack
and all will be destroyed by then, but the Spirit has disappeared.
Meanwhile, the Space Garrison is told by Tenpera Seijin that
'Yando', really the Yapool-jin, is planning war. He asked all the seijin to keep
out of his way, and demonstrated the consequences on Magma Seijin.
The Ultras know the Yapool is a strong foe; Great and 80 have seen that
already, and if Jack hadn't saved them from him, they say, they would be dead.
Jack just smiles strangely. Taro laments Ultraman's passing, as do the others.
Hopping mad, Mefilas berates them for their lack of spirit! What would Ultraman
say if he saw this? His lecture restores their spirits. Mefilas plans to go away and
train to become a Super Fighter, and asks Zoffy and Ultra Father's permission
to take Taro with him! Zoffy tries to change his
choice to perhaps someone older, but Mefilas has his reasons...
Just then, a package arrives for Seven, containing
blueprints for a weapons system. The messenger
describes the sender and Amagi (Ultra Garrison)
recognises him as Prof. Vulcus Notani, first-class astrophysics expert and the Galactic Norgel
Prize winner! Notani? The others can't believe their ears! It turns out this was to
fulfil a pact the Prof. made to Ultraman(?!). The new monk, bald as a boiled
egg, wipes away a tear and walks off into the distance.
A few days later, the Yapool army's frontline is greeted by
Ultraseven, who brings on what has been finished of the Hawk Weapon System, a
sword, shield and missile pack, and demolishes them. That was for Ultraman! The
war has begun...!
Chapter 22: Choutoushi Urutoraman Taro
Super Fighter Ultraman Taro
One month into the war, both sides are holding
their own. UltraSeven leads the good guys, armed with the Hawk Weapons.
Nothing has been heard of Taro or Mefilas since they left, and Ultra Father says
they have to trust Mefilas on this one. They are the only two who
can take down the Yapool...wherever he, or they may be.
On Planet TM-27, three Yapool soldiers are urging the
simple-minded choujuu Black Pigeon to destroy a family of furry critters.
Tiring of being yelled at, Black Pigeon fires
a blast of flame at them instead. Enraged, they prepare to kill it, but
Taro appears and sees to them. Fleeing, the leader
promises revenge. A grateful Black Pigeon insists on following Taro back. As expected, Mefilas forbids Taro from keeping
the critter, but suddenly, Black Pigeon senses something and flies out the cave
window--could it be the enemy?
The lead Yapool soldier has
returned with reinforcements to hunt Taro down. Mefilas then issues
terms--Taro can keep Black Pigeon if he defeats all of them without harming them
too much.
Taro agrees to the easy task and flies off. B. Pigeon is distressed,
but Mefilas knows that Taro's stronger than he looks and can handle them easily.
Taro confronts the bunch and suggests they give up
before things get nasty. They refuse and prepare for attack. Taro sighs at their stubbornness, and sheds his armour. When asked why,
Taro replies that he wouldn't like it to be smashed while he was fighting, as
it was very hard to make. He
crosses his arms over his chest, concentrates and transforms into Super Fighter
form! Spooked, the choujuu and Yapools attack anyway but are no match for Taro.
Taro reverts to his normal form and Black Pigeon flies
happily towards his new friend. Mefilas can't
believe how strong his protégé is now, even more so than Mazaron...yet,
there is still something different about him. It's about then Taro puts his armour back on and
apologises for knocking all of them out cold. Mefilas shrugs it off and says it makes his
job easier. He telepathically extracts the info from the lead soldier, and
finds out the Yapool is on Moebius...
Chapter 23: Mebiusu no Mittsu no Kagi
The Three Keys of Moebius
Taro, Mefilas and Black Pigeon arrive on Moebius, the
'reversed' planet. Now they have to to get to the planet's core.
Taro has a flashback to a month ago when Ultra Father advised him to forget
his grudge, as with Ultraman gone, Mefilas is the only one who can pull this
off. Black Pigeon leads them to a portal into the core, which it activates. The three
enter it to find themselves in a hallway filled with
doors. Mefilas sees no choice but to run the whole maze, and at last, they reach an immense
gate. Mefilas puts his shoulder to it, but it won't budge. Taro spots three
star-shaped keyholes in the doors, and the statue above them confirms their
purpose. It is Sphinx, guardian of the gate to
the Yapool's fortress. The gate will not open without the Moebius Keys, kept by
the Yapool's three strongest. Mefilas doesn't believe him and orders Taro to blast
the gate open with him. Taro obliges after some 'persuasion', but the gate and
Sphinx remain untouched! It appears they do need the keys.
Sphinx asks them how they will get out to find them, and
Taro replies "Through the door..." only to spin round and see a score
of doors. Trapped and cheated! However, he gets the idea of using Black Pigeon --
its homing instincts got them here, and they'll get it out! Taro leaves
a message on the Taro Bracelet, gives it to the monster and tells it to give
it to the first Ultra he finds.
The choujuu finds its way out in minutes, flies into space and comes across
some Ultras. He is taken back to the Ultra Star, and
Ultra Father gets the message. He sends out an Ultra Sign: 'Find the 3 Keys of
Moebius!'
Meanwhile, on the Sand Planet, things do not look good.
Red King and gang are badly injured. Baraba has given his weapons to Gamaz,
Chameleking and Doragorii. He also reveals that he has one of the Moebius Keys,
and will never give it up. Red King steels himself, and urged on by the
monsters and Banjou, he charges Baraba. Baraba whips some tentacles out of his
arms and looks set to impale Red King, but suddenly, something flashes through
the air and cuts them off! Baraba demands to know who it is, and a familiar
voice answers. It's an armoured Zetton!...
Chapter 24: Saikyou Choutoushi Shuuketsu!
Strongest Super Fighter Assembly!
Zetton's strike with the twin-bladed Meteo Sabre
also took down
Gamaz, Chameleking
and Doragorii. Shaken, Baraba reclaims one of his weapons and charges, but one
punch from Zetton knocks him out. The monsters thank Zetton for his
help, and he replies they were not the only ones grieved at Ultraman's
death. As they debate on whether to call him 'monster fighter' or not, a
light catches their eye. A crystal key rises up from Baraba's body, and Zetton
grabs it. At that moment, the Science Patrol's robot VTOL G arrives with the
coordinates of Moebius...
Taro and Mefilas are still waiting when Zetton arrives. Taro
rushes to greet him when he realises Zetton and Mefilas are staring at each
other--Mefilas had used Zetton before. However, Zetton explains that
it was in fact Mefilas who gave him his armour! He
went to find Zetton after Ultraman died and begged so hard for forgiveness, he
dropped his grudge. Mefilas has a conscience, it seems. Taro says it's all because Ultraman reformed him. "Maybe more
than that," says Zetton mysteriously.
Seven soon shows up with Anchira's Sapphire Key. It turns out during the heat of battle he changed into
Jack, who was really on Planet Leaze (Riizu). Jack is all right, but both Leo
Brothers were severely injured, so Seven brought the key himself. Not too long
after, enter Ace and the rebuilt Ace Killer Revenger! Sphinx notes that
they were the ones who got Aprasaru's Emerald Key. "What an awful
thing you've done!" he taunts. Ace lunges at Sphinx, but Killer R holds him back.
Turns out Aprasa
was Ace's girlfriend and although controlled by the Yapool, she took a blow for
him on Planet Heal. After giving him the key, she died in his arms. Ace maintains a brave
front, asks for the other two keys and hands them over to Sphinx. Sphinx waves
his staff, and the keys fit themselves in the gate. As it grinds open, Sphinx
warns them of the danger about to be faced. Taro warns HIM
that nothing will stand in their way, and anyone who tries will regret
it. Sphinx shuts up, and the six fighters set off on their mission...
Chapter 25: Onryou Choujuu Arawaru!!!
The Vengeful Spirit Terrible Monster Arrives!!!
After walking through the dark for ages, the group finally arrive at a large island, at the end of which is a
portal. The Yapool is just through there. Sphinx
mockingly warns them to be careful, but Ace dismisses his words and charges
forward -- until something cold and ghost-like zips by his ear. Suddenly, there
are dozens of vengeful monster spirits flying overhead! They combine
into one HUGE choujuu--Jumbo King! Sphinx says they might
remember a few faces, and a familiar voice greets them. Suddenly the whole hind end of Jumbo King turns
into the most vengeful spirit of all -- Mazaron! Mefilas is just about ready to cream him when
Seven holds him back and reminds Mefilas he has another target. Mefilas sees the
idea and grabbing Taro by his armour scarf, he runs towards the portal. Mazaron yells at his targets not to run
away, but the others block him. A furious Mazaron spurs Jumbo King forward and
nothing the others do can even scratch him, not even Ace and Ace Killer's Double
Metallium Beam. Sphinx watches, smiling enigmatically...
Taro asks Mefilas why they're running away and gets a swat
on the head. Taro only has emough Super Fighter energy for three minutes and
must save it for the Yapool. Seven blocked Mazaron so they could go on. Understanding, Taro whacks Mefilas' hand away, lands on his feet and
takes the lead.
The duo make it through the portal and find the Yapool's
dazzling House of Light! The Yapool laments that they
have come at such an inconvenient time as he's trying to destroy the universe!
The Super Fighter was the only thing in his way, but thankfully he is gone. The
Yapool is just carrying out a plan for self-satisfaction, and besides, he just doesn't want his territory to be a playground for the trash of society! Mefilas
warns him that even now, there is a Super Fighter, but the Yapool doubts his
words. Mefilas fires a beam at him, but the
Yapool dodges, jumps and kicks Mefilas in the neck, all without unfolding his
arms. "You really cannot play with me," he says as he turns to Taro.
"Now, I'll play with you!" he continues, and cracks his knuckles.
Enraged, Taro turns into the Super Fighter, blowing the armour apart...
Chapter 26: Haipaa Yapuuru
Hyper Yapool
Still in the darkness between the Yapool and the Moebius
Gate, the fighters are...laughing. Mazaron/Jumbo King said he would destroy
them in 10 seconds, and five minutes have already passed. Cursing,
Mazaron wildly blasts energy at them. Seven eventually confronts Sphinx,
who can control extra-dimensional energy and is powering
Jumbo King!
As the two duke it out, Jumbo King begins to lose
power. Sphinx turns and Seven strikes at him, but he generates the Golden Stream, a
furious blaze of light that blinds the Ultra and sends him falling. As Sphinx prepares the last attack, he
notices Seven's missile pack is gone. Ace has it and he fires, sending the monster
crashing into Jumbo King. Zetton steps back, and unleashes a string of Ultra Zetton Napalm fireballs to join Ace Killer's CT Laser(?). Seven unleashes the final attack
with the Magnelium Shoot, electromagnetic arrows from the Hawk Bow. Sphinx is
sent flying and Jumbo King explodes. The gang find
Mazaron's spirit, or rather his head, and Ace Killer squishes his disgusting
face into oblivion. They set off to the Yapool's stronghold, Ace minus his
armour as it cracked when he fired the missile pack.
The first thing they see on the other side is Mefilas, out
cold. Zetton shakes him awake and the first thing he says is
"Stop Taro!" Taro appears
to be doing fine, but upon closer inspection, the Yapool is able to block all
his shots! Taro is merely being played out! Seven and Ace fly up and stop him
from further attack, but Taro's Colour Timer immediately starts blinking. He only
has one minute of Hyper Energy left, and quickly changes back. The Yapool dusts
himself off and turns to face the others. His armour is meant to hold back his
energy, like Mazaron--which it can do no longer! There is a
mighty explosion, and the Yapool becomes Hyper Yapool, armoured up and
powerful. The fighters prepare to launch their attacks, and let Taro save
his energy for the final blow. Ace Killer yells at them to stop, but swords,
feet and fists fly...to no effect. Seven's sword and Zetton's Meteo Sabre is
broken, and Ace's hand is bleeding heavily. The Yapool unleashes a great burst
of energy that shakes and shudders Moebius...
Chapter 27: Uchuu Saidai no Kiki
Space's Greatest Crisis
The Yapool's burst of energy has buried them all
under a ton of rubble. Looking towards a glowing mountain, he awaits his
plan's commencement. Suddenly, Taro bursts out of the mess in Super Fighter
form! Energy thus exhausted, he falls, dropping the top
half of Ace Killer. The Yapool stares, then bursts out laughing. He
mocks Taro's actions, and Ace Killer isn't too pleased either. Taro says
Mefilas was too far away; he had to try and save the robot at
least.
"Looks like I made the right decision," taunts the
Yapool. He points towards the glowing mountain and announces that it holds the
Terrible Gate, a doorway to his own alternate dimension. His sun will go
nova any day, but before that he will transfer the extra-dimensional energy
to this dimension, turning it into a second home. Survival of
the fittest, just how he likes it. Taro vows he will not let the gate open at any
cost, but he is no match for the Hyper Yapool in his weakened state!
Under the rock and rubble, the others are still alive thanks
to Zetton. Somehow he managed to save them from being crushed, but he is unconscious and Seven, Ace and Mefilas must find a way to
help Taro. Mefilas remembers Mazaron once said that if his armour was destroyed
his energy would kill him. The Yapool should be the same. Ace worries that the
Yapool may grow stronger instead, but they decide it is worth that risk.
The Yapool is preparing to finish Taro off when Seven, Ace
and Mefilas fly straight out of the rubble. They slam full-speed into the
Yapool but are thrown off. He dismisses their attacks as a
waste of time when suddenly, his armour begins to crack and crumble. It all
explodes and falls apart, engulfing the Yapool in flames. Taro
rejoices at their reappearance, and Mefilas tells him to stay put as the Yapool
will soon self-destruct. However, a laugh comes from the flames as they
dissipate to reveal a very LARGE Yapool, complete with whippy tail and fangs!
Taro tries to block him, but he is so worn out his feet won't hold him up.
Suddenly SOMETHING jumps onto the Yapool--Ace Killer! He had planted a bomb in
his body; Ace Killer Revenger will kill the Yapool no matter what!
Panic ensues, and Taro is extremely frustrated that he
cannot do anything more. Who will help them now? A shadow falls across him and
Taro looks up, straight into Fighter Ultraman's eyes!
Chapter 28: Choutoushi Urutoraman Fukkatsu!?
Super Fighter Ultraman Resurrected!?
As the bomb in Ace Killer is about to explode, Seven aims
the Eye Slugger and slices his head off, saving him. The bomb goes, but the
Yapool isn't even scratched! The energy within him is rising but he can hold out for 5 more
minutes--by then, they will all be dead. Suddenly, there is a shout, and
everyone turns to see Taro apparently talking to the air...
Taro begs Ultraman for help, but he isn't
actually there! He is an image projected into his mind by Ultraman King.
Ultraman tells Taro he is the only one who can see him...and save the others. Taro is
in despair as he feels he could never reach that level. Fighter Ultraman goes on
to tell a shocked Taro about the
pact between him and the Sun God. Any doubt remaining is erased by
Ultraman's last words: the sign of the Super Fighter is 'the heart that wants to defend everyone's universe, no
matter what': the Ultra Spirit! The image fades as Ultraman urges Taro to stand
and help him see Seven in 3 years time.
Taro turns to his comrades, crying happy tears, and
announces that Ultraman WILL return! Spirit restored, he approaches the Yapool
and transforms to Super Fighter mode. Mefilas orders him to stop, fearing a replay
of Ultraman's death, but Taro refuses, saying it's his duty to protect them,
and he wishes to match if not surpass Ultraman! He does well, but
the unnerved Yapool flings him into the air and slams him down to the ground.
When the dust clears, it appears Taro has his head stuck in a large chunk of
rubble. The Yapool, drawing closer to explosion, stomps
over to the rest...
On the Ultra Star, Ultra Father doubles over. His Ultra
Horns are hurting like crazy! It is a sign that someone out there is trying to
concentrate the flow of Hyper Energy, and there is only one possibility...
The Yapool senses a flow of energy as the rock Taro's head
is stuck in glows and explodes. To the shock of all, Taro's Ultra Horns have
grown a fair bit! Mefilas exclaims that the glowing, large horns are a sign
that Taro is truly a Super Fighter. The Yapool screams that the power cannot be
copied, but one blow proves that it's no mere copy. Taro has exceeded it!
Chapter 29: TeriburuˇGeetoˇOpun
Terrible Gate Open
Ultra Father realises that the Ultra Horns are the
reason why Mefilas chose Taro to train. The Ultra Horns are a source of
boundless power, channeling energy to the Super Fighter's body. Ultraman died of
energy depletion, but Taro will not!
The Yapool, becoming desperate, lashses his tail at Taro, but the
Ultra merely takes the blow, breaks the tail off and sends him crashing into the
Terrible Gate. Burning off the Yapool tail still
stuck in his arm, he prepares to finish it all off. Although he feels sorry for
the Yapool, he's even angrier at the fact he has sacrificed so many, including
Ultraman. Charging up, he fires the Storium Ultra Light
Wave at the Yapool and the mountain, exploding both. Everyone cheers, including
Ultraman and King, still in the astral plane when both Super Fighters realise something
is wrong. The Gate has vanished!
Suddenly, a rift opens in mid-air -- the Terrible Gate! Taro
mutters he shot too late. A shadow appears
in the Terrible Gate's opening, for the Yapool managed to hide within it the gate
before being hit. He reveals his true form, which is strangely Ultra-like! The
history of his kind is said to be similar to that of the Ultra Star, only when
their sun went nova, it was extra-dimensional energy that evolved the Yapool
instead of Differator Beam. It was a painful evolution, and he refuses to lose
to a race which knew only comfort from day 1! Recharged, he powers up, and
the fight is on for the universe!
It's a fierce battle, the greatest ever. Neither gains an
advantage until Taro's sweep kick sends the Yapool crashing to the ground. He
fires Neo-Storium at the Yapool for good measure, but an energy shield springs
up around the guy! Taking advantage of this the Yapool springs back up, puts
out a spike from one elbow and slashes Taro's side. The Ultran crashes to the
ground, wounded badly in the side. Taro is
near immobilised by the pain, and the Yapool reveals that it was Taro's beam
attack that gave him the shield ability. He now charges for his final attack!
Ultraman and Ultraman King are watching from the spirit world, and the latter
mourns that all is lost. Not quite; Ultraman starts doing some
way funky arm movements and Taro manages to get to his feet, copying them
gesture for gesture...!
Chapter 30: Yapuuru Taisen Shuuketsu!
The Yapool War Ends!
Taro is using Ultraman's
tactic! The Yapool reminds Taro that beams are useless, but Taro flips and
slams one solid punch into the Yapool's head. There is a huge
explosion and the Yapool is thrown backwards into the rubble.
When the dust settles, the gang finds Taro out cold from fatigue. Ace wonders about that punch, and
Zetton reminds them that's how Ultraman defeated him in
the first GSBC. Just then, they hear a groan--it is the Yapool, alive
but seemingly paralysed. As Seven is about to deliver the final blow with the
Eye Slugger, Sphinx limps
forward and asks for mercy, saying they need the Yapool like Seven needs the
Ultra Star. Knowing Ultraman or Taro would do the same, Seven complies.
Suddenly, the ground quakes as the Terrible Gate opena!
The Yapool figures it was damaged when Taro struck him. There has to be a way to close the gate, but
how? It is Taro who answers, conscious again and back in Super
Fighter mode.
Mefilas pitches a roiling fit, for Taro may well die doing
this. Taro replies that as Super Fighter, he is a
protector of the universe, even the Yapool's. Mefilas finally shrugs,
raises both hands and shoots a beam at Taro's horns to recharge him. The other fighters follow suit, and as the Ultra Horns hum
with energy, Taro charges up for the most powerful Super Fighter attack, the
Cosmo Miracle Beam! The energy surges towards the gate, and with a mighty flash,
everything explodes.
King fears they were all killed, but somehow Ultraman knows they
are all right. They are. The
Yapool mutters he has lost to a mere boy...and he's going home to the dimension
they just saved. Sphinx opens a dimensional
doorway and they are gone. Seven says it's a happy ending and Mefilas agrees:
Taro saved them, AND the enemy. The Yapool War is over, but can they resurrect
their universe? Nobody knows.
Three years later, a
mysterious masked fighter disembarks from a ship, thanking the captain for his help. The monster captain
asks him why he came here when it's none of his concern. The passenger replies
that it is the most important thing to him. Fighter Taro
flings off his cloak and shoulders his drawstring pack. The 3rd. GSBC is about
to begin!
Chapter 31: Butoukai Kaimaku!!
Battle Competition Begin!!
Taro flings that mysterious pack into the air and armours up with the New Metal Breast! This time, Announcer Banjou's assistant is a a ducky-looking chap called Kamuran who claims to have known Notani and insults him. Banjou rises to his defence, for without his invention of the Hawk Weapons, the Ultrans would have had an even worse time in the Yapool Wars. The crowd seethes and Kamuran shuts up...for now.
Taro is greeted by the old gang and Ace calls him strange for not being able to find them so quickly, but Seven points out it's not quite THEM Taro's looking out for. Fighter Ultraman is supposed to have been resurrected by now, so where is he?
Zoffy, still refereeing, announces that the first round will be in the form of a battle royale. It was Ultra Father's idea to thin down the now-insane number of contestants. As they're about to begin, four of Gomora's 'old homeboys' interrupt with a 'question ' -- is ganging up allowed during the battle? They surround Taro, who seems more than willing to thump them when a strange Ultra appears, identifying himself as Powered. He asks the monsters (nicely) to stop their cowardly behaviour and let go of Taro. Tyrant loses the mood for a fight but promises revenge as he stomps off. Only Zetton recognises the Ultra, who heard rumours of such a guy founding the Powered Style, a karate style which emphasises mental strength over physical. Powered addresses Taro, saying he's sure he understands that a truly strong man will avoid unnecessary combat. He does, and Powered walks off with a smile. By now Taro's convinced that just possibly...
The battle royale begins and the Ultrans are doing well, but Taro sees the four earlier monsters about to gang up on Powered! He almost rushes to help, but Mefilas stops him, citing it as a good opportunity to spy on the guy's true powers. Forced into a fight, Powered has no choice but to turn serious. "Prepare yourselves," he says, "for the punishment of the gods!"
Chapter 32: Pawaado Sappou Bakuretsu!!
Powered Fatal Technique Explosion!!
Powered unleashes his attack on each of his
opponents: a single gentle
touch. Amazingly, the monsters fall as if struck with a hundred times more power! Banjou
splutters with
disbelief, and splutters even more
when he sees Notani sitting next to him! Where's Kamuran? "I didn't see him," says Notani
innocently, kicking his Kamuran mask under the table. As for the weapon, well, that is...an eternal mystery.
Powered notices Taro staring, and asks if there's anything that
disturbed
him. Taro quickly denies this, saying that he was just moved. Two of his skilled disciples, P(owered) Baltan and P. Red King
appear behind him, impressed with Taro's sense. With the end of the fight, the 16 finalists have been decided.
Unfortunately, Red
King is the only monster in the ranks!
Powered asks that P Red King and Baltan hold back until the finals, for they
have other fish to fry...
Zoffy asks that the 16 finalists step up to receive their
numbers, and Ace charges up at top speed to claim what is obviously his rightful
No. 1 ranking. Alas, someone else comes between him and the card. It is a
fighter with an ornate knight-like mask and cloak--an
Ultra Warrior! The computers can't quite scan his face, but his physiology is definitely Ultran.
The masked man says that his face was scarred during an accident while training and for his own
reasons, he uses no name. He also asks that for now they just call him the Masked Knight. There's
one number left over, and Contestant No. 16 appears from under a pile of
unconscious monsters -- it's Ultraman King!
The next rounds of battles begin. Ace almost gets his face knocked in by Masked Knight.
King battles Mefilas--and wins! When Taro runs up to check
on the fallen Mefilas, he has tears in his eyes and as King disappears behind the
court, Mefilas gallops after him. Catching up, he simply says 'You've returned.'
He has. Indeed he has. Off comes the cape, the 'beard' and
the costume, to reveal to a very surprised Taro that
King was Fighter Ultraman all along. There is a touching reunion scene, but
Ultraman then reveals the reason he came in disguise: King himself has given him
a mission, for there is a literal devil in disguise somewhere in this
competition--a devil he must seek out and destroy!
Chapter 33: Dai-3-kai Butoukai
ChouˇHakuˇNetsu!!
3rd. Battle Competition Ultra-White Hot!!
Other than what King has told him,
Fighter Ultraman has no knowledge of the enemy he must face. King literally could not answer any questions Man
posed--if his suspicions were true,
then they are under very serious threat.
There are only two others who know of its existence. Still, a mission is a
mission, and Ultraman takes it on. Mefilas is not at all
impressed, saying that it sounds like Ultraman
is picking a random fight! Why did King not say anything? The fact that he
didn't tell the whole truth, replies Ultraman, shows how serious the threat is. He asks that Taro
and Mefilas keep his identity secret for the time being...just as the others
find them. 'King' hurriedly greets Ace, who senses immediately that
something's amiss. Apparently every time King sees Ace, he gets some sort of
'special greeting' -- which Ace graphically describes as some hilarious pose
with a hilarious name. Ultraman has no choice
but to 'copy' the stupid pose to avoid further suspicion.
The semi-final fight between Powered and Masked Knight is
about to begin--but suddenly, the calm, collected Powered breaks into a dead
gallop, throws himself onto his opponent and starts wildly thrashing him before
following up with a mortal headlock, not giving one iota despite the audience's
protests. When he disregards Zoffy's command to stop, the others rush
forward to try and take him down but are blocked by P Red King and P Baltan,
under previous orders from Powered. Unable to break the deadly hold, the
Knight's eyes suddenly flash and stormclouds begin to gather in the air.
Ultraman realises with shock that this is one of the signs that his target is
here, for when the enemy decides to get serious, then black lightning will
strike the Earth. Sure enough, a crackling bolt of black electricity intercepts
both fighters in mid-air. The armour breaks away from Knight to reveal an entity
Powered addresses as Goudis! Powered challenges the evil and prepares to destroy
him with the Powered Kenpou (boxing) The alien, however, thinks that it is the dark who
will erase the light, and begins some form of transformation process. Man/King,
Taro and Mefilas rush forward to help, but Powered blocks them and asks that
they allow him to refuse!
Mefilas is left spluttering at Powered's
audacity, though Powered explains the school was founded specifically to destroy Goudis.
P. Red King and P. Baltan step forward, and the three manage to deal considerable
damage. Upon hearing Powered describe Goudis' 'immortal cells', Ultra Father remembers something, and orders
Zoffy to carry out the Protect Formation, sealing the audience under shields. Goudis
had once
almost annihilated a
whole troop of Ultran fighters...
Powered turns to question Ultraman, still disguised as King.
He seems to knows King very
well, and can tell this is simply one of his agents.
Powered can't tell his exact identity, but Goudis can--he felt the quantity of
energy radiating from Fighter Ultraman long ago. Powered is determined that Goudis should
fall today, but the entity calls his attention to his two subordinates, who have
fallen flat on the ground.
Suddenly all in the vicinity are down for the
count. It's Goudis' Goudis Cells, which drain life
force and fighting energy! The energy accumulates in a shining mass above the
monster. Powered has a plan, and calls out to Taro to quickly
transform to his Super Fighter mode. He does, and the weakness leaves
him. Powered fought in a blaze of energy to repel the Goudis (and
his cells), and
Taro in his Super Fighter mode should feel similar effects! Goudis snorts at
this attempt for them to combine their strengths, for his energy is now
limitless, but suddenly, a beam of light cuts through the darkness--it is the
Sun God! That which King and Ultraman invented and
smelted within him/her is now complete, and Ultraman arms up his gold New
Metal Breast!
Goudis is not impressed by mere armour, but Ultraman whips the armband off
his right upper arm and places it on his forehead, and it
separates quickly into the Ultra Crown. This done, the
fighter powers up into...Super Fighter Ultraman! The Crown works much as the Ultra Horns do--they enable
Ultraman to battle as Super Fighter without a time limit. He joins forces
with Taro, and Goudis smiles sinisterly. Two Super Fighters...
(Meanwhile, under the Protect Formation arena, Banjou and
Notani are trying to entertain the spectators...by putting on an act of an arena
battle between Taro and King!)
Chapter 35: 2 Dai Choutoushi Koko Ni
Tatsu!!
Here Stand 2 Great Super Fighters!!
Goudis tries to summon something, but is
thwarted when Taro and Ultraman's Double Aura Beam burn away his cloak.
Amazingly, the body underneath is Great's! He admits to having taken
over the body of the Goudis Hunter. Nevertheless, Powered is prepared to defeat
him...
As it turns out, Great and Powered were childhood friends.
When
the both of them were
under orders from King to become Goudis Hunters, Great didn't feel comfortable
continually turning down Ultra Father's
and Zoffy's offers to join the Space Garrison. He really did want to fight
with the others. Powered stressed to his friend that their fight,
whether 'onstage' or 'backstage', was towards universal
peace. He was then asked to help Great out if he got 'lost like this
again'. Still, Great did debut 'onstage' and used the still-imperfected weapon
designed for combat against
Goudis--the Magnum Shoot! He was immediately targeted.
Powered could not stop Great then, but he will now, even by death! Powered fires
a Mega Specium Beam,
but Taro takes the blow--He cannot let
Powered destroy his friend. Taro collapses,
and just then, Goudis' call is answered--the lifeform UF-0 appears,
and boarding it, Goudis flees.
Days later, the others are still under
treatment to remove the Goudis cells. Taro suggests
Powered join forces with them, but he refuses, seeing them as a liability, and
leaves with P. Red King and P. Baltan. Taro is quite
upset and worried that the Powered followers will once again become sacrifices,
but Ultraman is confident both sides can be defended.
Powered hands P. Red King and Baltan
over to his followers and orders them to track Goudis. He is slightly regretful he
cannot fight with the others, and begins to
understand Great's feelings. He walks off into the
distance, alone...
While Taro and Ultraman search for Goudis, 80 plans to fight
him despite the risk.
Yullian is trying to dissuade him when Notani and Banjou appear. Notani has
written down some plans for a Metal Breast that might prove quite useful.
80 mentions that they have to make TWO sets...
In his secret lair, Goudis/Great feeds the energy leeched
from the Ultras into some sort of cocoon. Five
beings--Bemular, King Bockle, Terrorist Seijin, Tsuruk Seijin and Gora--have
come to him with their decision--to join forces with him for a chance to become
strong enough to defeat the Ultrans.
All they have to do, says Goudis, is touch the mark upon the five suits of Evil
Breast. They do so, only to be completely 'taken over' by the armour as
Great was by Goudis. The Goudis Quintet--Gelgan, Broaga, Degan, Baranga and
Gigarus--are now revived and ready to battle...
Chapter 36: ??
??
The Goudis Quintet search for (Ultra)warriors to
bring to Goudis. Baranga then poses a question: who exactly is their leader?
Broaga sees no need, considering they are all just parts of Goudis himself, but
the others bicker a bit and decide to base it on the number of targets they
score later. Broaga is not pleased -- if anyone's heading them, it's him.
While Baranga stops on the Seademon Planet and sets up a fog screen
to detect any targets, Degan is confronted by Ultraman, Ultra Crown blazing! He
recognises Degan's sword as Terrorist Seijin's; Degan proudly proclaims that he
has possessed him and increased his power 20-fold. Broaga and Gelgan decide to
join in, and they decide to elect the one who kills Ultraman as the leader.
Ultraman smashes the Degan and Gelgan armour with one blow and presses Broaga
for Goudis' location and plans. Feigning defeat, Broaga gets close to Ultraman,
slips off King Bockle and possesses the Ultra instead!
Elsewhere, Gigarus is knocked down by another Ultra --
Fighter 80, armoured and ready! Gigarus fires Goudis cells at the Ultra, but the
attack is disintegrated by a beam from 80's armour. The parts made of
ultra-reflective crystal have the effect of deflecting Goudis cells. Behold the
power of the Double Breast! Gigarus tries to freeze 80, and when that fails, he
headbutts him. The next attempt succeeds partially and the third one is about to
finish him off when a star-shaped boomerang disarms Gigarus. Jonias has arrived
in the nick of time with his own Double Breast. Gigarus expects another easy
win, but Jonias is on the same level as Zoffy and thumps him good. Unwilling to
give in, Gigarus plants a kick in Jonias' midriff and reaches for his freezer
gun. 80 breaks free from the ice in the nick of time and hits him with a
Sakucium Beam. The two Ultras combine attacks and smash the Gigarus armour off
Gora. Amazingly, the monster survives--which means that there's hope for
Great, too! 80 is about to ask him where Goudis is hiding, but it appears Gora's
caught a spot of amnesia...
Goudis sits in front of his cocoon, watching it pulse gently.
Not too far away, Taro has arrived to confront Baranga, and he's not alone...
Chapter 37: Uchuu Saikyou no Akuma
Koko ni Fukkatsu!!
Here Is Revived The Universe's Most Evil Demon!
Taro arrives to confront Baranga with Black
Pigeon and Prince Piccolo. After the Yapool War, all the choujuu were
sent to live on Planet Piccolo. Taro went there as he heard that their emperor
had the ability to track down any lifeform. Unfortunately, that was ages ago, so
in his place, the emperor sent Taro's childhood friend, Prince Piccolo. Baranga
begins unleashing clouds of neurotoxic gas, paralysing Taro. The monster moves
in for the kill, only to find Piccolo staring straight at him through the fog.
The gas doesn't affect him or Black Pigeon because...they're not thinking of
anything at all. Taro asks Piccolo to search for enemies, and he senses a
presence -- in the wrong direction. Still, Piccolo raises his little wooden
mallet and smashes Baranga's gas taps in the process. As Baranga flees, Black Pigeon gives him a hard peck in a very soft spot. His scream
alerts Piccolo to his presence, and the wooden prince tells Taro to go
southeast, where there should be an entrance corresponding to the evil he senses
there. Piccolo then scores another hit with his mallet--to the monster's foot.
Goudis' reverie is interrupted when Taro breaks the door down
with a beam attack. He opens fire, but Taro intercepts his attack, throws him
and prepares to fire a Storium Ultra Light Wave. Suddenly, his face splits down
the centre to reveal Great's! Taro approaches the other Ultra, but is blasted
with Dark Burning Plasma for his pains. Goudis 'zips' his face up again, sneers
at Taro a bit and prepares to sacrifice Taro to the mysterious cocoon...
80 and Joe arrive on Seademon Planet and find Piccolo and
Black Pigeon still plugging away at Baranga, who finally snaps. He flees, only
to bump into Broaga. Barunga pleads for help, saying that Broaga can be the head
of the Quintet, but is merely told there will be no head or tail before getting
smashed. Broaga then concentrates his energy and Ultraman breaks free of the
armour, having controlled it with his own energy until now. Now the Goudis
Quintet are down there's only Goudis left to find, but suddenly, a huge
earthquake hits. Piccolo can now sense a bigger evil coming up ahead. A really
BIG evil. Underground, Taro falls, the cocoon splits and an evil god is born...!
Chapter 38: Uchuu No Unmei Ga....Gekidou
Suru!!
The Fate Of The Universe Is....Quaking!!
Something big bursts out of the ground with a
huge roar, Goudis floating just by its head. He throws something to
the ground in front of the Ultras: Taro, barely alive! All his
energy had been drained to revive the evil god, the same as the others. Goudis
orders the legendary God of Destruction,
Kodalar, onto the Ultras, but is attacked instead...!
Meanwhile, Powered Dada leads Powered towards none other than his master, Ultraman King
himself, in bad shape! He tried to contain it, but a second evil god has resurrected and is
now racing towards Kodalar. King orders Powered to chase down the 'light of the
red demon'. (Shiralee?)
Goudis tries to remind Kodalar who resurrected him, but is
batted away once again. Ultraman saves him from being stepped
upon, but only for the
fact he still possesses Great.
Piccolo states that there is no way to handle him as he is just a beast out for
destruction. Jonias suggests some sort of food, but Goudis vetoes the
suggestion, as it only feeds off energy and is never satisfied. Kodalar unleashes a frightful breath weapon and follows up with
eye beams. With no choice left, Ultraman tells the others to flee while he
distracts the beast. Unfortunately, Ultraman finds even the aftershock of
Kodalar's blows is enough to wound him quite badly, and so he has no choice to
dodge. As the others look on, Ultraman fires a Specium Ultra Light Wave, only to
have Kodalar amplify and turn it back against him! With no alternative left but
speed, Ultraman applies just that. Goudis seizes his chance to escape on UF-0 again, but instantly runs
into the second evil god. Struck by lightning from the beast's beak, Goudis
falls to the ground, a victim of the Life-ending Beam! Could
Great have been snuffed out as well...?
Kodalar senses its comrade's presence and bounces Ultraman
off his stomach into the winged demon's clutches. The evil god
headbutts him back , and Kodalar shatters Ultraman's
New Metal Breast--AND the Ultra Crown! The Ultra hits the ground hard,
understandably shaken, and the two evil gods prepare to finish him off. There is a huge explosion, but suddenly, a very familiar group of four
appear with Ultraman under their leader's arm. Mefilas, after all, has
asked the Steel Four Evil Heavenly Kings to make sure Ultraman and the rest
don't run away from the situation at hand...!
