Arms entwined
And legs entangled,
Fingers run through flowing hair;
An embrace too close for most,
But comfortable for us

A tug on an earlobe
Or a bite on a shoulder,
Soft kisses along your neck
As you whisper wordlessly in my ear
And I comprehend

Soft music plays
From a battery operated stereo,
With lit candles on top.
The power is out for miles
And we couldn't care less

The candles are almost out
The stereo died long ago
You sleep peacefully in my arms;
My eyes slowly close,
And I am at peace.
