Clothing
Scott Sherman - 9.20.2002
You are born wearing nothing,
The most relaxed outfit you ever get to wear.
You immediately are clothed in soft cloths and diapers.
You enter school and wear bright clothing.
Your parents dressed you,
But the clothing is comfortable and fun.
In middle school, you wear the styles.
The popular people wear it,
So do you.
High school. Baggy pants.
Cool cotton comfort,
Because you like it.
College comes and you try new things;
Dressed for personal comfort,
Your individuality shines through.
The job world: sharp suit, sharp shirt,
Choking tie, smothering wool...
You beg for a weekend.
Relaxation in retirement,
The longest weekend has you in baggy pants again,
Buckled high at the belly button on the golf course.
You've stopped aging and lied down.
You look great at your funeral,
Sharp suit, sharp shirt,
motionless tie, motionless wool.
