Well .... What's the Scoop!!!
Hey, everyone. Just thought I'd write a bit in here and give you all the scoop on what's going on in my life right now.
Where to start? Well, the snow is all gone and it was actually raining today! Yuck. I doubt our winter is done but yesterday it felt like spring. It was SO nice out I couldn't believe it. Gave me the spring cleaning fever! hehe
The first sign of nice weather makes me want to throw open all my windows to finally let in the fresh air. Get rid of all that cooped up staleness from winter. So, I did that. Turned on my music (real loud) and cleaned like crazy.
My cable connection to the internet went out on me. "System-wide outage", they said. "We're working on it." Well, I lost my connection from around 2pm till I'm not sure when. I checked one last time before I went to bed at 2am and it was still down. Was repaired some time during the wee hours coz when I woke up, all was well.
Thank goodness! Talk about feeling cut off from the world (literally). I spend almost all my nights on here (after the kids are in bed) and I didn't know what to do with myself. Also missed out on chatting with a very special friend. It's become a nightly ritual (good one) and habits are hard to break..ya know? Yes, Jay...that means YOU! ;o)

So, now that I have my connection back it's business as usual. What business? Well, this is what's been taking up most of my time lately. I have mentioned on other pages that I've begun making my own graphics. I absolutely LOVE it! The first simple set I've posted for other's eyes can be found HERE. I took an online HTML course and made a page for my certificate. I also signed up for a couple more courses and currently am taking PSP 101. Just need to take the final exam and I'm done!
WebTech University offers a few courses you can take for FREE through e-mail. I've learned quite a bit so far and am having fun while doing it.
What else? I've also joined the millions of people in their quest to make some extra money online. Joined a few "Pay To Surf" and "Affiliate" Programs. There are SO many out there, it's mind boggling. I'm starting another site that will be directly related to the programs I have found and feel good promoting. Believe me, I joined quite a few, I'd rather NOT promote and probably will not go back to. It's all a learning process tho right? Now I know more on what to look for.
ALL-Advantage is the one I used the most to start coz it's the "grandfather" of pay to surf programs and I know they REALLY do pay.

What are affilaite programs?
Most are free to join. You market a product of service for someone else and receive a commission. Are you saying what I did? "Market"?? I'm not a salesperson. Join the club. I am the LEAST likely person you would put in this category, but actually it's pretty easy. The web opens up all kinds of new doors. No door to door selling or even direct consumer contact. Place ads, tell all your chat buddies, add links on your website...there's all kinds of ways to promote your affiliate program.
What do you do once you join? If you're like me, this was a mystery. Though I'm leaning fast!

Update March 11, 2000.
My new site is up and running! I worked pretty hard and am quite proud of what I've done so far. As I mentioned above this is a whole new area for me so I wasn't quite sure of where I could go with it. Know what though? I have all kinds of ideas now and am working on them every day. Whew! :o)
So the new site is called United $ingles 4 Profit. I've been working pretty hard on it and I would greatly appreciate some feedback on what you think. I hope you can take a few minutes and check it out....then you can e-mail me your thoughts and suggestions. I still have a lot more in mind to add but there is currently quite a bit to begin with. I also added a section for contests and free stuff. Speaking of contests I want to start running a few of my own or do one a month. Any suggestions and/or contributions?
