Okay I was a busy beaver today!
I'm trying to go through all my pages to start off the new year. So I did some minor changes and link checking. I won't bore you with who, what, where, when and why for but it's been done. :o)
I did quite a bit at the beginning of January and then got off track. Back again though! It's also time to do some Valentine's pages and I have yet to start any! Yikes! I HOPE I'll be able to get a few done anyway BEFORE the day. I have some ideas on things I'd like to do.
So enough rambling. Here's what's new for today.
I added some new links to my Links Page.
An update was put in on Her Story (my cousin's page). Some good news in there...check it out!
Sierra's homepage was updated with a new entry.
Last but certainly not least....coz it took the longest! I added some more  pics to the Family Photo Album. A long time in coming but hey, no more complaining (yes, some really did). They are finally in! There's a bit of a mix from Easter, to Brandon's birthday, some miscellaneous pics and a few Christmas pictures. I won't list them all here and you'll be glad I didn't coz I added over 20! Whew! They are listed on the Photos Index page or if you've been there before you know you can just keep clicking on "next" to view them all. Enjoy!
So that's it for now. I only have a few pages left to check over and update so please be patient. Then I plan to start adding even more. So send me some ideas! *grin*

WOW! The New Year has begun! Can you believe it? I know I let my updates slide a bit lately and I apologize. There was just too much going on with my cousin and the holidays not to mention my normal routine. I hope to get back on track though! At least I've started anyway. Mainly what I did so far is check all my links and make sure each page had what it was supposed to. Bringing them up to date with all the latest. I'm only about half done with that and hope to finish tomorrow.
What as of yet hasn't been listed here is my Online Prayers Page and the Online Prayers Page 2. Both having to do with my cousin. Some wonderful people have sent in their good thoughts and prayers. I've posted them online as well as forwarded them on to my cousin. It means SO much, I can't even begin to say.
So what's NEW? Well, my Christmas site did finally open. A couple days before the day itself..hehe  Oh well, I did mention, my middle name is late, didn't I? The name of the site is Kandi Kanes and it will remain open all year so go ahead and take a peek whenever you want. I'll continue to add to it so you can bookmark it for next year! I even added some Holiday awards you can win for your own site. Available on an ongoing basis so check 'em out!
Also, updates have been done to Her Story ( giving my cousin's progress), Online Prayers 2 where more prayers that have been sent in were added and Brandon's Homepage.
So that's it for now! I hope to add in some new pics as well as finishing my links check during the next couple days. My mom would like help in starting her own site now so be sure to look for that too!

For today, you'll find I added those "pesonal" pages I was talking about. They mean a lot to me so I wanted to get them done. The first one I did was with my mother's help. Actually she was kind enough to allow me to do a page for her, written in her own words and add it to my site. A dedication to her own father, me Pepe. A great man who did wonderful things so you definitely need to check it out. It's entitled "DADDY WHERE ARE YOU GOING?". I'm quite proud of the end result. What can I say? We're a great team!!  *smile*

Gratitude Journal! Yes, I know...I'm 2 weeks of entries behind. Ummmm....my dog ate them? Don't like that one? It would work ya know. He eats everything else...hehe
Okay, actually I have them sitting here right in front of me. I just haven't posted them yet and it won't be tonight either. At 3am, it's time for me to sign off. Not as bad as 4 huh? Maybe not, but it's still gonna hurt in the morning. Ugh. So the journal will be updated...soon.   :o)

So today on the "new" channel we have the LINKS page finally posted. Took way too long to get that one up didn't I? Sheesh! Well, it's there now anyway. Another one I been kicking myslef for not getting done is my children's rooms. Well, kick no more....hehe
Updates have been done to BRANDON'S ROOM, SIERRA'S ROOM and last but certainly not least (she is the loudest after all), SUMMER'S ROOM. Whew! I set out to accomplish those tasks today and I did it! So what if it's 4am. Who's counting??? Well, I am!!! Coz I'm darn tired and almost fell asleep more than once waiting for my PC to catch up to my fingers.  :o)
On that note, tis my bedtime and off to dream land I go. Look for some very touching and personal pages coming up. I'll start working on them tomorrow. After that there won't be anything really new coming up around here for a while. I'll be spending my time on my Christmas site to get as much done as possible. The birth of Jesus comes on the same day each year and He's not going to wait for me to get my butt in gear. So I'm on a deaadline! I'm also signing off!

So what's new this week? Well, the first thing you'll notice if you've been here before is that my "Entry Page" to the whole site has taken on a new look and feel to it. It's better, I think. Much more in tune with the theme of a retreat. Once again it's something from Backgrounds By Marie. I just love her stuff. If this is your first time here? Well, then you'll never know! Hope you like what I've done anyway.
The entry page is now referred to as My Place Of Serenity - Renee's Retreat but for the sake of keeping it short, you'll still find all the same Renee's Retreat titles everywhere else.

Also new is something I'm pretty excited about since I use them often and think they're great! It's Electronic Greeting Cards or Digital Postcards. There's so many special people you meet online, that this is such a wonderful service and best of all, it's FREE! I decided to incorporate that into my site and opened up a post office. It's where you can go to send a card, a greeting or friendship page, some virtual flowers and anything else I can find that will brighten someone's day. Not sure how to express what your feeling?

It's new as of yesterday at Renee's Retreat. I'm adding links to other sites that also offer these same services so that if I don't have what you're looking for, maybe someone else will. What's new at Renee's Retreat? Hmmm......well, this page is new! :o)
Actually the whole site is just a couple months old and I been working hard on it. I still have sooo much I want to add and areas I want to ventue into. It'll take time but slowly I think it's taking shape.

I do have a mailing list you can join to be kept up to date but I don't like e-mailing people every time I change things. I'm doing that almost every day! So this page will be very current on listing the changes I've made. I'll still be using my mailing list though, so please feel free to join.

Okay....an overview on my site?
Everyone in my family has their own room and home page, my dog included. Oh, me too, of course! Brandon, Sierra, Summer, Caesar and My room! :o)  Updates to these rooms are done at the beginning of each month. Umm...I'm a little late for November, but check here coz they'll all be done this week. I promise!
Within My Room, you'll find a link to my Online Gratitude Journal which will be updated every Wednesday. Yes, I'm on time with this one. Posted my entries this morning ... :o)
The kitchen is for cooking tips and tricks as well as home recipes. Mostly my mom's. World's best cook, I think!
The Games Room has games and trivia to test your knowledge.
Holiday Hall is opening soon! I missed out on Halloween. I had lots of ideas for pages, but moving kind of kept me away from the computer quite a bit. So, I hope to make it up for Christmas. It's my absolute favourite time of year so I'd like to do a lot with it. Kandi Kanes is the name. I'm branching off, yet again with another site. *sigh* Will I ever learn??? lol I promise to work hard so I can get lots of  xmas stuff for you.
What else? There's also my Greetings Gallery which has greetings and friendship pages that you can pass to your online friends....and coming soon, I'll be hosting some digital postcards. Thousands to choose from! I'm so excited ...hehe... so look for that!
The Music Room isn't ready yet. I have lots of midi's, but not enough for a decent page so I'll work on that after I do my Christmas site. Christmas isn't gonna wait for me. I'm on a deadline! Whew!
My Family Photo Album is up and has almost 20 pics already! My scanner has yet to be hooked up, but I have some great family Halloween pics and recent ones of everyone to post, so that'll be coming up soon!
My Links page is still being organized but will be up by the weekend.
My Awards page is empty coz I haven't won any yet and still have a bit of work to do. Which means I haven't yet joined any Webrings either. Maybe next week!
Specifically today, I've added this "What's New" page for an instant look at anything new to my site.
As well as the "Are You Lost???" page which lists all my rooms and EACH page within them. It's a complete guide to anywhere you might like to go at Renee's Retreat.
Updates were done to my rooms index page adding the new links and logos.
, Angel Within My Heart - dedication to my mother, got an update as well. Links and a couple new graphics I found at Backgrounds By Marie. I visit her site regularily. It's a good place to find some nice graphics...worth the trip! :o)

I should mention that I started a site for my dog. You'll find the links on most of pages. It's called Caesar's Dream2000. Unfortunately it's not getting much done right now. I'm concentrating on Renee's Retreat to get this site up to par. I do have to leave time for my family, but the message is important to me - so please visit his page..there's a few actually. Plus some good links for reading on pet mills and animal abuse. Worth it to read a few of the pages dedicated to spreading the word. Plans for the site are pet tips and tricks; Labrador Retriever (that's my dog) facts and info; speaking out on animal abuse and puppy mills; pet memorial with a dedication to my lost furry friend and whatever else I can dream up! It is my dog's site so he has his own e-mail and guestbook, which I'll help him with. *wink*



Lastly...I designed a few logos for my sites and had a great time too! It's what I really enjoy doing. I'm not a grphic artist and don't even have the proper programs but I'm pleased with what I came up with by using some simple desk-top publishing software..... Works for me!

Now my fingers are sore. I'm just a 2-finger typer, ya know?! hehe
I think I've mentioned everything. I covered the whole site this time so next time I can just add my updates or changes. Much easier.
