PLACES OF INTEREST

Khall

Khall is famous village of Upper Dir district situated about 54 kilometers from Upper Dir's headquarters towards Timergara on the western bank of Panjkora river. Citrus gardens and watermelon are in abundance. Malta and Zari caps are the speciality of Khal.

Proper Dir

Proper Dir is an ancient historical place. It is the headquarter of the district, situated on the Dir-Chitral road on the banks of Dir river. Its natural beauty attracts the tourists. Important building is the residence of ex-Nawab of Dir. There are many hotels which are equipped with modern facilities. The houses are compact and scattered on the slope of the mountains, which gives it a beautiful look.

Wari

Wari is a sub-divisional headquarter situated on the road side at a distance of 37 kilometers from proper Dir's headquarters towards Timergara. It is a military station occupied by Mahsud scouts. The houses are scattered on the slopes of the mountains which look very beautiful. There is a beautiful mosque along the Dir-Chitral road which also increases the beauty of the sight.

Kumrat

Kumrat is the most beautiful valley in Upper Dir District where a man can enjoy the natural beauty of forest, water, grazing places, flowers and play grounds etc. Trout fish are available at Kumrat in Kohistan river on a very large scale. But unfortunately the road which leads to Kumrat is in a very delepidated condition due to which the tourists are facing great hardship and therefore, this area is lying hide from the eyes of the tourists and other people.
