Warm Up

The goal of a warm up is to get your body ready for a workout.  Warm ups consist of 2 activities:
1. A type of rhythmic activity which gets the heart pumping and              blood flowing which in turns warms up your muscles.
2. Stretching excercises to increase joint and muscle flexiblity.

A few moments of rhythmic activity, your heart rate should be slightly elevated.  Once it becomes difficult to have a conversation your cardiovascular system in warmed up.

Next, do a few stretching exercises to increase both your muscle and joint flexibility.

Cool Down

Likewise, cool down consists of 2 different types of activities; a light intensity rhythmic movement and stretching exercises.  The type of cool down exercises you do after a workout depends on the type of workout you did.

After a Calorie Burning workout, or an aerobic fitness workout, do the same movements for 5 minutes but, at a slower pace, to allow your body to come to a comfortable stop.
